Physical Install
Tablets communicate to the Trimble base unit over Wi-Fi, so the devices do not physically interact. Tablet physical install consists of two parts:1) Mount the display to the dash using the provided
mount, adding a swivel if preferred.– Be sure the screws holding the cradle to the mount are
fully seated. Loose screw heads can create seating/charging issues.
– In this example, the RAM™ swivel mount is added to provide a clear view for the driver.
2) Connect the power cable and route it to the 2-pin Power connection point, either on the in-dash Power Assembly or the Trimble Base Unit Cable.– Be sure to secure all cables and connectors to avoid
damage or disconnect.
Notes on Power Connections
Most cradle cables come with the 2-pin power matching the PMG/PCG/TG field-installed cables.– If your cable does not have that plug, you can splice to the base unit
2-pin, red-to-red and black-to-black. Be sure to remove power before cutting the cable.
– You can also connect the Power and Ground directly to vehicle spares if preferred. Be sure to fuse the power side at 5 amps at the source, unless you are using the Trimble Fused Power Assembly.
