Homework Policies
• Homework to be turned in the following day• Please sign/initial your child’s agenda book each
night• Expect:
– Reading and Language Arts-Superkids “Backpack Page” Monday – Thursday
-Reading nightly
–Math-Math fact practice
-Homework page 2-4 times a week after a lesson has been completed
Parent Responsibilities• Sign and check assignment book nightly• Check to make sure your child’s homework is done
neatly and correctly (?????)• Return any forms or paperwork sent home promptly• Encourage your child to read independently for at
least 10-20 minutes each night and practice Math facts daily
• Send in an absence note the day after your child is absent from school (Call that morning if possible)
• Keep me informed of any problems or concerns that would effect your child’s school day.

Writer’s Workshop• 2nd half of Language Arts in the morning• Focus on development of Writing skills
– Sentence structure– Vivid language– Types of writing (Personal Narrative,
Persuasive, Poetry, and Informational)• Students will be taking their writing through each
step of the writing process and publish each of the types of writing mentioned above
• Includes cursive writing (to begin mid-year)
