Love All

What do you think might happen if our whole church

celebrated Christmas in a truly different way?

Our members have suggested the following generous

expressions of love as a way to share the love of Jesus this

Christmas.

We offer:

Our SCPC Giving Tree . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4

Ways to Serve . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6

Gifts to Give . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 12

After you serve, pray or give, come to church and

anonymously write your gift on a silver ornament and hang it

on our "Giving Tree” in the Sanctuary Lounge. Let's see just

how much we can give this Christmas.

WAYS TO SERVE

Meals Ministry

Our Meal Ministry Team provides dinners, for a

short period of time, to a person or family who is

facing a challenging situation. We are always

looking for new team members to help make

meals. The commitment is flexible. Contact

Cyndi Martin at 361.5115 or [email protected].

Missions Prayer Time

Join a small group the first Sunday of the month at 10:15 am in Room

209 to pray for the needs of God’s people around the world. Contact

Sheryl France-Moran at [email protected] or 492.6158, ext.23.

Our Family to

Your Family

Reach out to your

neighbors this

Christmas with a special gift, the 24-language DVD “The Story of JESUS

Through the Eyes of Children,” so they can hear and see the real story

of Jesus from the book of Luke. Pick up a DVD on the patio in

December and share it with a family whose heart language is not

English. Watch it first! But pass it on…maybe with a plate of cookies or

a Christmas greeting. For more information go to

OurFamilytoYourFamily.org or contact Paul and Marilyn Miller at

492.0037 or [email protected].

Pray for SCPC Camps

Give a gift of prayer for every family and child going to camp — Winter

or Summer. Pray for the called mentors/counselors to respond and for

financial support. Contact Diana

Castruita at [email protected] or

492.6158, ext. 21.

Prayer Chain

There are over 300 people on the prayer chain. SCPC members and

attendees request prayer for themselves, family or friends. Please join the

prayer chain and lift up your brothers and sisters in prayer. Contact

Enid Sloan at [email protected] or 366.0643.

Prayer and Squares

The idea behind these quilts is simple,

yet powerful. Quilts are made and

threads are left free to be tied with a

square knot. As a knot is tied, a silent

prayer is offered for the person in need

who has asked us to pray for them. Then

the quilt is delivered to that person.

More quilters are needed to make these tangible gifts of prayer.

Contact Carolyn Pierce at [email protected] or 492.4366.

Pregnancy Resource Center Volunteers

Through their volunteer network,

the Pregnancy Resource Center

provides pregnancy counseling,

parenting and life skills classes,

fatherhood mentoring, adoption

and ultra sound referrals.

SCPC Nursery and Childcare

Looking for a wonderful way to be of service?

Consider serving in our nursery. The

commitment is only 6 hours a year and you

get to hold babies for free! No experience

necessary, and you don't have to change

diapers; just love babies and help them

become comfortable in God's home. Contact

Jill Dupree at [email protected].

SCPC Sunday School Teachers

We need part-time teachers at the 10:45 am service for the 2 and 3

year-old class and the 1st and 2nd grade class. Ask a friend to help you.

Preparation: 1 hour to review and read lesson, 1 hour to teach. Each

team teaches one month on and one month off; September through

August. Contact Diana Castruita at [email protected].

ready and thrilled to be here to learn and share their lives with you.

Share your wisdom and teach. Contact Diana Castruita at
