DESCRIPTION
The 60 acre San Diego City College campus is home to more than 17,000 students and offers 100 majors and 115 certificate programs. Propositions S & N-funded projects for City College include six new instructional and career training facilities, eight major renovations, parking facilities, public safety enhancements and a sweeping infrastructure upgrade. The design and construction will follow the updated master plan as adopted by City College in 2008.

Completion Date: August 2007
Renovation to convert approximately 15,000 SF of
parking garage space into faculty offices, student
classrooms and support space. First Propositions S
and N project to obtain LEED certification.

Learning Resource Center (LRC)
Project Budget: $10.3 million
Completion Date: April 2009
Complete, major renovation of two-story building
totaling 28,700 sq. ft. Serves as one-stop shopping
for all student services, including tutoring,
assessment, advising, and other student support
and student achievement programs.
City College Completed Projects
Academic Success Center (L Building Renovation)
Project Budget: $10.9 million
Completion Date: January 2010
Major interior and exterior renovation of two-
story concrete gymnasium building. Renovated
facility includes work-out rooms, locker rooms,
training areas, classrooms, faculty/staff areas, and
enhanced parking and ADA accessibility.

P Building Renovation
Project Budget: $63.1 millionConstruction Start: May 2008Completion: June 2010
New five-story 88,000 sq. ft. facility to house the
Nursing, Cosmetology and Photography &
Digital Arts programs. Includes classrooms,
computer labs, medical simulation labs, a
gallery for student work, a 694-space parking
structure and new headquarters for City College
Police. It has nation’s largest vertical solar array.

Career Technology Center (CTC)
Project Budget: $89.2 million
Expected Construction Start: Nov. 2010
Targeted Completion: October 2012
Arts & Humanities will consist of approximately
70,000 sq. ft. to include new classrooms, a lecture
hall, computer labs, studio space and a 100-seat
“black box theatre.”
Business Technology will consist of approximately
40,000 sq. ft. to include classrooms, computer labs
and areas for start-up businesses for students.
The project includes sublevel parking designated
for ADA and faculty.

Four-story, L-shaped building providing 73,000 square feet of new construction for classrooms, labs and a planetarium.

Project involves land acquisition and construction
of new 72,000 sq. ft. classroom and laboratory
building. It will include the District’s Corporate
Education Center, Military Education, a Family
Health Center and a six-story parking structure
with 400+ stalls.

Estimated Construction Cost: $1.2 million
Project will provide a data/IT loop around the City College campus. The construction documents have been completed and approved by the City.
