Fort Rosecrans has been a defense position for over 200 years, with it’s origins going back to the days of Spanish domination. The Fort was later used by the US Military until it was decommissioned in 1945. The remains of some of the Fort’s structures can still be seen and are a major piece of California’s military history. On this tour you will also be able to see the Cabrillo National Monument, the place where Juan Cabrillo first set foot on America in 1542, which is also a major scenic site with great views of San Diego Bay. The Flying Leatherback Museum is a tribute to the aircrafts and to the history of the Marine Corps Aviators. The outdoors are of the museum comprises over 20 aircrafts from Jets to Helicopters and Transport Airplanes.
