ETC Consortium San Luis Obispo County Office of Education Membership in the ETC Consortium provides your students and teachers with access to subscription-based educational resources via the ETC Portal, as well as the use of ETC Services, including inter-district mail, video, print and web services. ETC Portal Resources Formed in 2001, the ETC Consortium is a partnership of San Luis Obispo County educational institutions organized for the purpose of licensing web-based educational resources and contracting for ETC Services at discounted rates through cost-sharing. Managed by the Educational Technology Center (ETC) of the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education (SLOCOE), the ETC Consortium meets quarterly as an advisory committee of member representatives. ETC Consortium web-based resources are delivered via the ETC Portal, a child-safe interface for searching and accessing more than 250 standards-based online educational resources. Individualized accounts allow ETC Portal content to be targeted specifically to users based on their district, CaliforniaStreaming - collection of more than 13,000 educational videos and 6,000 image and audio files aligned by content standard, subject and grade level ETC Moodle – virtual learning environment where teachers create online courses for enhanced student interaction World Book - encyclopedia-based reference collection with interactive multimedia content for grades K-12 Gale/Cengage – reference database of articles from magazines, newspapers and journals for grades 6-12 Media Et Cetera – media/AV lending library with courier service for DVDs, art prints, projectors, etc. HippoCampus – high school-focused multimedia content (simulations, interactives) with an emphasis on science, math and history Additional ETC Portal resources include: Digital Math, Digital English, iCivics, California CareerZone, Khan Academy, National Geographic Kids, Tumblebook Library, Starfall and Internet4Classrooms. school site, grade level and institutional role. ETC Services Video Production and Broadcast Services • Video production, editing and consultation for physical or online distribution using in-house and mobile virtual studio • 24/7 broadcast of educational programming to 80,000 households countywide on COE-TV, Charter Cable channel 19, and streaming live online • COE-TV programming produced by county K-12 students and educators, as well as Cal Poly and Cuesta Colleges • Standards-based regional and national programming, including the Do the Math live homework help show

Inter-district Mail Services • Pickup, sorting and delivery of all inter-district mail, including payroll and accounts payable • Bi-weekly delivery for more than 50 sites countywide, including all school districts, Cal Poly and Cuesta Colleges • Courier service for ETC Lending Library, including DVDs, projectors, screens, art prints, and audiometers

Web Hosting Services • Encoding, hosting and serving of live and on-demand streaming video content produced by county schools • Website development, management and hosting services for schools and educators • Off-site backup services for schools, as well as teacher and student portfolios

Print Services • Discounted in-house color printing services for schools or individual educators • Multi-format printing of stickers, flyers, photos, charts or posters, in sizes ranging from 3”x5” to 24”x36”

Support, Training and Promotion • Helpdesk support for ETC Portal resources by phone, email and videochat: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. • One-on-one and group training available for all ETC Services by request, either on-site or by webinar • Support materials for ETC Services, including video tutorials, resource documentation and usage reports • Promotional events, including student contests and teacher tech showcases; promotional materials, such as posters, e-newsletters and flyers
