PASSION The contrast between the processional reading in today’s liturgy and the proclamation of the Passion is striking. We are given a glimpse of how profoundly the word of God is fulfilled in Jesus. First he must be hailed as the Messiah, the One who is to come. He must be acknowledged by all, though they do not know what they are saying. They think he is the promised king, a worldly king of the Jews who will free them from the Roman occupation. They do not yet understand, even the disciples, exactly where this triumphal procession is leading. In our lives, we too do not know where we are going. It is in faith that we can follow Christ wherever he may lead us, trusting that death is not the end, nor evil the victor. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc

Use Your Envelopes or use E-Giving We encour-age everyone to use their envelopes or E-Giving. Think of your envelopes or on-line giving as a gift to God. You take the time to thoughtfully, prayerfully choose your gift, wrap it and present it eagerly to our Lord. Many times families will ask for a letter stating that they are registered, par-ticipating members of San Sebastian in order to become a Godparent, Confirmation Sponsor or simply to enroll in Catholic Schools. Using your envelope or E-Giving makes our job easier and allows us to say “Yes! this family is reg-istered and participating here at San Sebastian. “

Ways to Help the Needy in our Community
There is an urgent need for volunteers to distribute the Eucharist to parishioners who are homebound & also Catholic residents of some local nursing homes and rehab centers. This is a very rewarding min-istry that would involve leading a brief communion service for nursing home residents gathered for the service, & bringing communion individually to those residents unable to a end the service. You do not have to be a Eucharis c Minister for the regular Masses to qualify for this service. Training will
be provided. There is also a need of assistance for our priests & deacons who say Masses at nursing homes. If able to help with any of these ministries contact Jenene Karamon 501-9912/ [email protected]
