TIPSFORINTRODUCINGTHEROSARYTOYOURFAMILY
Personalize it: Each familymember should have their own
Rosary. Children may play with it. Girls may
wear it as a necklace. Boys will try to use it asa lasso. Thats fine. It helps them become fa-miliar with a Rosary. Eventually they willlearn and grow in reverence for their Rosary.
Create a habit: Set a time that is comfortablefor your family and that works without addingstress. When it doesnt happen, dont give upentirely, just pick it up again the next day.
Create a space: Set the tone for prayer soyoung children understand this is differentthan other family activities. If possible, light acandle and play some soft, background, instru-
mental music. Start small: Be patient. Dont try to complete
an entire Rosary the first time you gather to-gether in prayer, particularly if you haveyoung children. Start with a decade and buildover time.
Keep it simple: The Rosary is a great way foryoung children to learn the Hail Mary, OurFather and Apostles Creed and to learn aboutthe lives of Jesus and his Mother Mary.
Involve all family members: If children have
a role, they will participate more fully and bemore attentive. Let them lead a reflection orthe prayers depending on their age.
Opportunity to teach: Use the Rosary as astarting point to teach children about otheraspects of their faith. Children are curious andwill ask questions. Pause in prayer as neces-sary to answer their questions. As they getolder, you can hold their questions until prayeris complete.
Just start: Theres no time like the presentand no place like home.

Daily Prayer for Priests
O Jesus,I pray for your faithful and; fervent priests;
For your unfaithful and tepid priests;For your priests laboring at home or
Abroad in distant mission fields.
For your tempted priests;For your lonely and desolate priests;For your young priests;For your dying priests;
For the souls of your priests in Purgatory.But above all, I recommend to you
The priests dearest to me;The priest who baptized me;
The priests who absolved me from my sins;The priests at whose MassesI assisted and who gave me
Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion;
The priests who taught and instructed me;All the priests to whom I am indebted
in any other way(especially...)
O Jesus, keep them all close to your heart,And bless them abundantly
in time and in Eternity,
Amen

Praying to Mary, the Angels and Saints
We believe that the Church in heaven and the Church on earth are unitedtogether. As we help one another on earth, those in heaven help us.
We pray to Mary the mother of Jesus, the angels and the saints (those who havereached heaven) in order to ask that they pray with us and for us to God, just as we
would ask one another to pray with us and for us to God. We also sometimes pray inorder to thank them for praying on our behalf, just as we would thank one another.
Mary, the angels and saints have set examples for us to follow and show us howto love and serve God. Just as we honor and respect modern day heroes and
sometimes ask them for additional help because of their heroism, we likewisehonor, respect and ask for help from Mary, the angels and the saints.
Prayers can be offered at any time of the day or night. We should pray often andalways, when we feel the need or desire to express praise, adoration, thanksgiving or a
request for help.
There are many, many different types and forms of prayer. For instance, we can prayalone, with others, on bended knee or not. We can use our own words, no words, or
recite prayers written by others to help us. There are prayers written specifically for thehelp and intercession of particular saints and angels, but the one common element in
any prayer is that it is directed toward God, with a humble and sincere heart.
Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayersof the holy ones.
Revelation 5:8
The smoke of the incense along with the prayers of the holy ones went up before God fromthe hand of the angel.
Revelation 8:4
