• PDM-Workbench (PWB) is an extension of CATIA-Desktops including all relevant functions to exchange and synchronize data between CATIA V5 and SAP.

• PDM-Workbench is available in the market for many years an has become stable and approved.

• The engineer can stay in his common workspace without having to switch between CAD and SAP. All needed SAP-functionality are triggered by PDM-Workbench.

“Universal Data Converter” (UDC) supports different types of conversions, for example:

• ”Ext. to PP/iPPE”: Data from external systems (TDM/PDM, Host, EXCEL, XML, etc.) is written to PP or iPPE objects and structures.

• ”PP/iPPE to Ext.”: Data from existing PP or iPPE structures is converted in structures for use in external systems (PDM, Host, EXCEL, XML, etc.).

Highlights of the Scenario

M-BoM sizes: Up to 13,000 BoM positions plus position history.

The multi level E-cBoM (up to 14 Levels) is converted to a single level M-cBoM, regarding the different validity dates on the different BoM levels.

The E-BoM is splitted into different M-BoMs.

Parts, which are documented in one E-BoM position but are assembled on different working places are splitted into separate M-BoM positions. The total amount of parts is controlled.

Variable size items are added to M-BoM positions.

The dependencies raw material-(raw part)-part are added in M-BoM for in-house parts.

Sub operations and material list are supplemented to routings.
