Sarplast - Qatar

Sarplast Qatar W.L.L. is the world leading company

in the design, manufacturing and supply of Glass

Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipes and fittings

with the Dual Helix Technology.

The Sarplast manufacturing method of fiberglass

pipes is the “Dual Helix Filament Winding”, where

the GRP pipes are manufactured on to a rotating

mandrel in various lengths (usually 12 m).

Diameters are available ranging from ND 20 mm up

to ND 3050 mm, and for operating pressures up to

30 bars. Usage of Epoxy ,vinyl ester & isophtalic

Resin in the winding process makes our pipes

substantially the best in GCC and world market.

Sarplast Qatar W.L.L is associated with the following

shareholders:

-SARPLAST Iniziative Industriali S.p.A.

Headquarters in Italy with more than 35 years of

experience in the design, manufacturing and supply

of GRP pipes and fittings.

-AMIANTIT Qatar Pipes Company (AQAP) was

established 2007 in Doha, Qatar as a joint venture

among Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co.

- Abu Dhabi Pipe Factory leading manufacturer in

the UAE of GRP pipes and fittings.

The Factory is located in the new industrial area of

Doha, Qatar and can its facilities can be summarized

as follows: - Total Area: 42.000 m2

manufactured under own internal know-how.

Characteristics of Filament Wound GRP pipes Pipes are formed by adjusting the relative speed of

the mandrel rotation and the movement of the glass

distributor, to achieve the pipe predefined design,

according to the required winding angle. Pipe

properties can be varied by adjusting the proportions

of materials which may also include high purity sand.

Main characteristics are:

Installation Efficiency

Filament wound pipes are available in 12 m lengths

and Installing them guarantees their fast and practical

installation compared to many other systems since the

Bell and Spigot joint makes the pipes assembly and

joining very easy.

The nipple sealing test guarantees the successful

execution of the final hydraulic test that therefore this

may also be avoided.

If the joint is also provided with locking keys, then the

use of thrust or anchor blocks can be reduced

enormously or can even be removed completely.

Fittings

Sarplast can produce in GRP a wide range of fittings

(elbows, flanges, tees reducers, etc. ) and spools

prefabricated that are supplied ready to be installed.

Fittings can be manufactured either by hand lay-up, by

contact molding or by spray-up.

Certifications and Qualifications

Sarplast Qatar is certified by Velosi Quality Mangement

for: ISO 9001 -2008, ISO 14001-2004 & ISO 18001 –

2007.

Sarplast is registred in Qatar with all the main

Organisations and Public comapanies as: Qatar
