SAS ABM Survey KitA Sample Usage Scenario:

Collecting Numeric Attribute Values

Problem:You need to collect number of “Inspections Passed” for your Activities. This numeric attribute value will be used as part of your driver formula to distribute costs accordingly.

Solution:In ABM, first attach the “Inspections Passed” attribute to the relevant Activities. Then export the “ValueAttribute” and “ValueAttributeAssociation” tables to ASK repository. ASK will automatically detect that and allow you to associate owners responsible to fill out the data.

Notice we have attached “Inspections Passed” attribute

to the relevant Activities.

We then export “ValueAttribute” and

“ValueAttributeAssociation” to ASK repository.

ASK is database independent so you can use SAS, Oracle

or any other database repository ABM supports.

Login as Admin.Notice the ASK version

on the bottom of the screen.Numeric Attribute Survey

is available in version6.2.1.3335 or higher.

If you have older versionof ASK, simply install newversion to the same folder

for easy upgrade.

No uninstall, reboot, or clientupdates required.

Notice ASK automatically shows the attributes in the pull down menu.

We assign the ownersfor each activity.

Notice thered/incomplete

icons are placed

next to the 4owners we

just assigned.

ASK monitors each user's progress

in real-time.

Once all icons are blue/completed

you know everybodyhas completedtheir surveys.

With a single-click you cansend 4 separate emails

to the 4 owners to notify them.

Jim clicked the ASK linkembedded in your email

and logged-in.

Jim’s dashboard indicates he hasa survey to complete.

ASK will validate every data entry. Only valid numeric values are allowed.

So Jim removed the word ‘Packages’and simply entered 200. He hit ‘Finish’ and notified

you that he had completed all his surveys.

You refreshedthe page but how come Jim’s Statusis still red?

Let’s go here

You found out that indeed Jim has completed his survey for 2004 Q1/ACTUAL.

But there are 2 different Period/Scenario.

Now you know why Jim’s status is still red/incomplete.

He did not fill out survey for 2004 Q1/Plan.

Since 2004 Q1/Plan is not criticalyou decide to mark it as complete by

clicking on the red icon.

Switch

2004 Q1/Plan is nowmarked blue/completed.

Jim Smith’s status is now blue/completed.

Let’s check the back-endStaging Dataset to verify.

Look at the highlighted observation on the

Value variable.

200 = Jim’s previous data entry.
