Our Goal and Philosophy is to provide an opportunity for our students to obtain understanding of Japanese culture and way of living through learning the Japanese language and raise them where they can compete not only in Japan but globally, to contribute to the development in international relations and be a bridge between Japan and their home country.

日本語の学習を通して、日本文化や日本の生活習慣を習得し、日本や世界で活躍できる人材、国際交流の発展に貢献できる人材、日本と母国の架け橋になるような人材の育成を目標・方針としています。

自然豊かな土地柄を生かした体験（地元伝統行事への参加、農業体験など）や地域の子どもたちとの異文化交流会、お年寄り世帯でのホームステイ体験の実施など、地域密着型の学校です。

Our school is a community-based school that can provide enriching experiences through nature-rich locality (Participation in local traditional events, agricultural experiences, etc.), intercultural communication with the local children and homestay experiences with the local elderly households.

About SLA SLAについて（Satsuma Language Academy）

Minamisatsuma, located southwest with a one-hour car drive from the capital prefecture of Kagoshima city, is a city rich in history and natural sceneries having one of the Japan’s three largest sand dunes, Fukiage-hama with its richly varied ria coast and breathtaking white sand and green pines. [Fukiage Sand Festival], the city’s biggest event, is held yearly on May where lots of people can appreciate and experience the [sand sculptures]. Also, Motoichi Bonotsu is the place where China’s Ganjin (Chinese: Jianzhen) set foot. One can participate in events like one of Kagoshima’s three large spring walks, the [Minamisatsuma Kaido Ganjin Walk], held on [Mina-misatsuma Kaidou] located along highway 226 or enjoy sceneries like the sunset view in the East China Sea. I am pleased to inform that in recent years, many companies, Satsuma Language Academy (SLA) being one of them, are making advancements to our city and introducing many trainees mainly from Southeast Asia.Also, foreign tourists have been steadily increasing recently due to events like [Shimazu Jisshinko Tadayoshi 450th death anniversary] which is related to last year’s Meiji Restoration 150th anniversary.
