Saturday 29 th Seprtember 2018 – DAY 3 In the past I have found it impossible to describe the Rahmi Koç Museum which is on the waterfront on the Golden Horn, a cove off the Bosphoros on the Europe side. It is a truly amazing collection of just about everything, check out their website http://www.rmk-museum.org.tr/en/index.htm but it will still not give you a real insight into how incredible it all is. We spent all day there today so I will just show you some photos and a few comments. 09.40. Arrived at the Museum and met the head man so we got very nice treatment from everyone all day. A special big thank you to everyone there who looked after us like we were royalty. I have been trying to set up a collage of photos but there are just too many! There is such a diversity of things in the museum that it is just impossible to do it justice. We were met by the head of the museum who is an accomplished model maker himself and then started out tour. There are sections for cars, trains, boats, steam, engines, models, motor bikes, wagons, and lots of working models to show how “stuff” works. After a full day there we still have not covered everything and hoping to go back for a second visit later in the week. We were treated to a submarine visit, a train ride and a trip out on the 1873 steam tug “Rosalie”. By the time we left our heads were spinning, it is so hard to take it all in. AMAZING!! A big thank you to everyone there and in particular to Mr Rahmi Koç who put this museum together and made it all possible to share. At the entrance.

Saturday 29th Seprtember 2018 – DAY 3

In the past I have found it impossible to describe the Rahmi Koç Museum which is on the waterfront on the

Golden Horn, a cove off the Bosphoros on the Europe side. It is a truly amazing collection of just about

everything, check out their website http://www.rmk-museum.org.tr/en/index.htm but it will still not give

you a real insight into how incredible it all is. We spent all day there today so I will just show you some

photos and a few comments.

09.40. Arrived at the Museum and met the head man so we got very nice treatment from everyone all day.

A special big thank you to everyone there who looked after us like we were royalty.

I have been trying to set up a collage of photos but there are just too many! There is such a diversity of

things in the museum that it is just impossible to do it justice.

We were met by the head of the museum who is an accomplished model maker himself and then started

out tour. There are sections for cars, trains, boats, steam, engines, models, motor bikes, wagons, and lots

of working models to show how “stuff” works. After a full day there we still have not covered everything

and hoping to go back for a second visit later in the week. We were treated to a submarine visit, a train

ride and a trip out on the 1873 steam tug “Rosalie”. By the time we left our heads were spinning, it is so

hard to take it all in. AMAZING!! A big thank you to everyone there and in particular to Mr Rahmi Koç who

put this museum together and made it all possible to share.

At the entrance.

This is the “Rosalie” a steam tug which we took a trip out on into the Golden Horn. The captain was great

and let the boys blast the whistle and then steer the ship, even though full of other passengers!

Model trains and the real thing.

The

Motor cycle section, there is also a classic car hall, and a large display of wagons but generally there is a lot

of nautical stuff on display, from large to small.
