Dragon Boat Racing and the FestivalDragon boat racing is the fastest growing water activity in Britain today – as well asthe most fun! Up to 10 people paddle each 30’ boat with a drummer at the frontbeating time and our helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previousexperience is required, just plenty of team spirit!The 15th Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival takes place on Saturday 7th September2019 on the River Cam at Fen Ditton and more than 40 teams are expected tocompete over the 200m race course, watched by several hundred spectators. CAMBRIDGE DRAGON BOAT FESTIVALIn aid of Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust

Entry detailsCrewsCrews comprise up to 10 paddlers plus a drummer – squads may be larger (max 15persons). Crews can be mixed, all female or all male and organisations may enter morethan one crew. The minimum age is 16 and no previous experience is required. All crewmembers must be confident in cold water conditions, wearing light clothing and inmoving water and compete entirely at their own risk. BDA qualified helms, buoyancyaids and water safety cover are provided by the organisers.

RulesGable Events is an approved operator of the British Dragon Boat Racing Association (BDA).All crews accepted for entry must abide with the competition rules and entry details onthis form. Each crew is guaranteed a minimum of 3 races (subject to conditions).

Entry categoriesGold and Silver entries give teams additional benefits to standard entries and helpcompanies to increase their profile whilst raising funds for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.Standard Entry – as detailed oppositeSilver Entry – Standard entry plus £500 donation to ACT, company logo on each sideof one dragon boat, team photo and acknowledgment on the Festival website, in thesouvenir programme and commentaryGold Entry – Silver entry plus an additional £250 donation to ACT (£750 total), crewgazebo with chairs and full page advert in the souvenir programme

EntriesWill be accepted on a first come, first served basis. No refunds will be given once anentry has been accepted and there can be no refund if the Festival or racing has to becancelled due to conditions outside the control of Gable Events.

Charity sponsorshipAll crews are encouraged to raise money for the Festival charity ACT using the on-linegiving information and/or sponsor forms provided. All the fees from standard entries gotowards the costs of running the event. ACT benefits only from sponsorship moneyraised, or from gold and silver entries.

Top fundraisers’ prizeThe team raising the most money for ACT will be awarded the charity trophy andreceive the special prize courtesy of Cambridge Escape Rooms. 3 teams of up to 5participants will have 60 minutes to escape a locked room using only the power of theirbrain.
