Savage gear deviator JerK baitThe 16cm Deviator is a great glider with a seducing side to side motion on retrieve and a great “hang” in the water. Theshapeandsizeofthislurematchesmanypreyfishand will be deadly throughout the year. Fishes from 50cm – 2m. Light trace recommend. The new 19cm Deviator is also a great glider, with a seducing side to side motion on the retrieve, but the lure is just floating, so it makes a great wake on the retrieve, breaking the surface regularly. The lure can be fished all the way into the shallows and can be worked over just 30cm of water. The noisy rattle attracts the predators to strike in the surface. Extra strong doubled spilt rings and high quality treble hooks. Fishes from 0-0,5m.

Vertical Fishing: Vertical fishing, is a highly effective way of fishing directly on the schools of predators, schooled up close to snags, plateau’s and drop offs on deeper water typically from 5-15m of water. Especially fishing for Zander and Perch in deep water, with thin braids 0,06mm – 0,10mm and 10-25g jigg head’s mounted with Loose body softlures like our Cannibal shads (31), Dying minnow’s (32) – Transformer (33) and Recoil shads (34) – can be very, very effective. Fish close to the bottom and drift slowly over the area where you see the fish on the echo sounder. Lift and drop the lures, so they hit bottom once in while.

The illustrated depth cart is an approximate guide line of optimum working depth for the shown lures.

Casting and spinning: Retrieve speed, diametre of main line and how high you hold your rod tip, will affect how deep your lure will fish. Most lures will run a bit deeper on steady retrieve than on twitching.

Trolling: Lip lures and Crank baits will work deeper with thin mainline and trace than with thicker mainline and trace. Each lure have an optimum trolling speed where your rod tip have a lively “knocking” action.Change trolling speed up and down once in a while, this way the lure will per-form an erratic action that often trick follow fish to strike.

Jerk baits: Can be adjusted to work higher in the water if you replace the mounted heavy spiltrings with 8mm Butch spiltring’s – this way you can give your lure great hang and long spin stops. If you double up the butch split rings, your lure will have a bit more glide and the hooking rate will increase – a good tip in cold water and with many follow fish.
