Billy was given

20c for emptying

the dishwasher .

“You must save

this coin,” said

his mum. “One

day, you might

need it.”

Jessica was given 20c for washing the car.

“You must save this coin,” said her dad.

“One day, you might need it.”

Jack was given 20c for

mowing the lawn. “You

must save this coin,”

said his grandma. “One

day, you might need it.”

Billy went to the shops

with his mum. He saw a

packet of lollies for 20c.

He looked at his coin

and thought, “Should I

spend this or keep this?”

He decided to keep his

money.

Jessica went to the shops with her dad. She saw a pair of earrings for 20c. She

looked at her coin and thought, “Should I spend this or keep this?” She

decided to keep her money.

Then Jack went to the shops with his grandma. He saw a toy

truck for 20c. He looked at his coin and thought, “Should I

spend this or keep this?” He decided to spend it.

Jack was playing with his truck and Jessica

and Billy joined in. They were having lots of

fun but then they heard some music.

It was the ice-

cream truck! “20c

special!” called out

the ice-cream man.

Jessica and Billy

ran outside to buy

an ice-cream..

Jessica and Billy

looked at their

coins.

“Do we really need an ice-cream?” asked Jessica.

Billy replied, “ No, but we might really need our

coins one day.”

Billy was given 20cents for

emptying the dishwasher.

“You must save this coin,”

said his mum. “One day

you might need it.” Billy

now had two coins.

Jessica got 20c for washing

her bed sheets. “You must

save this coin,” said her dad.

“One day you might need it.”

Jessica now had two coins.

Jack was given 20c for

mowing the lawn. “You

must save this coin,” said

his grandma. “You might

need it one day.” Jack only

had one coin.
