This letter is to congratulate you on the conferment of the SAWADA Prize on your paper entitled “Prediction of the environmental concentration of pesticide in paddy field and surrounding surface water bodies”, which was published in the 2003 international journal “Paddy and Water Environment”. The SAWADA Prize was established on the basis of Dr. Toshio SAWADA’s donation in the year of 2003. Dr. T. SAWADA is a Professor Emeritus and former President of Kyoto University, a former President of the Japanese Society of Irrigation, Drainage and Reclamation Engineering (JSIDRE) and the 2003 PAWEES International Award Winner. He is a member of the Japanese Academy of Science. The SAWADA Prize with 50,000 Japanese Yen is conferred on the best paper amongst the papers that are given the PAWEES Paper Award.
