The Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre Fort McMurray can accommodate a variety of special events. Banquet and Event PoliciesFood and Beverage ServicesSawridge Inn and Conference Centre will be the sole provider of all Food and Beverages items with the exception of Wedding/Birthday Cakes. No food or beverages may be removed from the conference room.

Taxes and Service ChargesA service charge of 10% is applicable on all Room Setup/Rental Fees and AV Equipment rental.

A service charge of 17% is applicable on all Food, Beverages and Liquor. As required by Federal Law, 5% GST will be applied to all charges.

DepositsDeposit policy varies on size of event.

Guest AttendeesWe require that you advise our catering professionals of your menu selection at least 2 weeks prior to the event. The final guest count is needed 7 days prior to the function start date. If the final number is not given at this time, we will charge based on the number given at the time of booking. Clients will be invoiced based upon this guaranteed number or actual guest attendance, whichever is higher.

When necessary, we reserve the right to substitute a suitable room for your event.

SOCAN /ReSound FeeAll events playing copyrighted music are required by federal law to pay performing rights licensing fee. This charge is determined by guest count and dance requirements.

Cancellation PolicyA cancellation fee equal to the room rental charge plus the service charge and GST will be incurred for any cancellation within 14 days of an event.

Events cancelled within 7 days prior will be charged the full amount for all contracted services.

Bar/Beverage Services We are pleased to offer you two different types of beverage services, a host bar or cash bar. All beverage services are subject to a $30.00 per hour Bartender charge for sales under $400.00 per bar, as well as 2.5 hours per bar for set-up and take-down. There are no Bartender fees when revenue exceeds $400.00 per bar.

Host BarThe host pays for all costs incurred by the bar and bartending services. The Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre will set up a complete bar and bartending services, including the liquor license. The consumption will be charged to you on a per drink basis. The host has the choice of the Premium or Standard Bar.

Cash BarEach guest is responsible for purchasing own Beverages. The Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre will set up a complete Standard Bar and Bartending services, including the liquor license.

Drink TicketsStandard drink tickets will be supplied by the Sawridge Inn and Conference Center. They are Non Refundable/Non Transferable and are charged at a price of 5.49 each plus 17% service charge and 5% GST.

Bartending RequirementsAll bars, regardless of type, must be served in accordance with the laws of the Alberta Liquor and Gaming Commission. All alcohol beverage services, including non-alcoholic beverages, are subject to a 17% service charge and 5% GST.
