Whats HAPPENING?
Ourcousins,ScottandMeleahTaylor,havejoinedushereintheDominicanRepublicalongwiththeirtwodaughters.Wearesoexcitedtohavethemhere!
Wehavetwonewbelieversonourcampusduetoourfallspiritualretreatearlierthis
month.GoGod.
Jonrecentlychangedpositionsandmovedfromthedepartmentheadofsupportservicestothehomelifedepartmenthead,whichmeansheisinchargeoftheresidentialpartoftheministry.
Theministrythatwearewithisonthevergeofsomeexcitingnewchanges.Staytuned.
Wecelebrated15yearsofmarriagebackinAugust.Goodtimes!
Weare
looking
at
being
back
in
the
states
sometimeduringthesummerof2012.Itisalwaysacrazywhirlwindforus,butonethatwelookforwardto.
WehavehadsixadventurousyearsnowintheDominicanRepublic-weareforeverchanged.
DuringourDontSwervetheSERVEFallspiritualretreatatthebeginningofOctober,wefocusedonhowtheLordcanuseonesgiftsand
talents
to
glorify
Him
in
all
sorts
of
careers
andenvironments.Duringthistimeofspiritualemphasis,wetalkedabouthowfear,shameandpaincankeepusfromwhattheLordhasforus-essentiallythatharboringissuesintheseareasislikewalkingdownthestreethaulingalogthatWEhavetiedtoourownwaist.ButthetruthisthatJesusdeathonthecrosscutthetiesoftheburdensweallcarry-sowhywouldwetiethatheavysuckerbackon?Manyofourstudentsreleasedtheirburdensduringthistime,andtheLordmovedinamightywayonourcampus.Duringthisweek,wealsofocusedonwaysthatwecanservethosearoundus.Inthephotoabove,thestaffandstudentsareattheparkhavingallofourshoesshinedinanefforttofinanciallyblesstheboysintheparkwhoworkshiningshoes.Afterweallhadshinyshoes,weplayedagameofplaca,aDominicantypeofbaseballgame.Agoodtimewashadbyall....

Pants?Khackipants,thatis.....Weareapproachedonaregularbasisbyyoungboyswhoworkintheparkshiningshoestomeetaneedthattheyhave.Inthefall,theneedisforschoolsupplies:khackipants,blackshoes,backpacks,etc.Withfourlittlepeopleofourowntoclotheforschool,wearegenerallynotabletohelpoutourfriends,theshoeshineboys.Butwethinkthatwithsomepartnersbyourside,thatnextfallwhenschoolrolesaround,thattogetherwecouldprovidesomeoftheseneeds.Ifyouoragroupofpeoplethatyouknow(aSundayschoolclass,forexample)wouldbeinterestedinjoiningusinourGOTPANTSCAMPAIGN,wouldyousendusanemailatsawyers5dr@gmail.com.Wouldntitbefuntomeetaneedtogether?

NOW is the time to do that thing youve been meaning to do. Dont
