SAFETY DEVICE BYPASS SWITCH (200) FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS Your machine comes standard with a safety device bypass system. This system should be used to restore safe operating conditions in the event one of the safety devices does not work properly or at all.

WARNING ! The correct and safe use of the key described in this paragraph is ultimately the responsibility of the person in charge of the operation (owner, foreman, etc.). Never leave the key in the dashboard, in order to prevent any improper use during normal operation.

NOTE! The electronic control unit of your machine records all the times the safety device bypass system was activated, as well as the following events, in a memory ("black box"). Should the machine get blocked (red light "C" of indicator (25) in the cab is on) (Fig. 1) because of either manoeuvre errors or malfunction, you can still operate your machine in a bypass mode (with all safety devices disabled) as follows: - open hatch "X" on the exterior of the cab with the key supplied for this purpose (Fig. 2) - turn switch (200) to position "1" (Fig. 3)

The buzzer in the cab and the red warning light (5) on control panel (P) in the cab switch on to indicate that the safety device bypass mode is now active. From this moment on the operator has 5 minutes to restore safe operating conditions. During this lapse of time the following controls are enabled, but the movement speed is reduced by 15% as against the maximum movement speed: • telescopic boom raising/ lowering • telescopic boom extension/ retraction • carriage rotation • turret rotation • auxiliary controls.

If green light "A" of indicator (25) in the cab (Fig. 4) switches on after carrying out the aforementioned manoeuvres, this means that safe machine operation is restored. In such case, disable the safety device bypass mode by turning switch (200) to position "0" (Fig. 5) and locking hatch "X" (Fig. 6). If red light "C" of indicator (25) in the cab (Fig. 4) is still on after carrying out the aforementioned manoeuvres, this means that a machine fault or malfunction is still present; in such case, lower the load on the forks to the ground, switch off the diesel engine and repair the cause of the malfunction if possible.

If the operator does not complete the necessary manoeuvres to restore safe operating conditions and does not turn switch (200) to position "0" within the allotted 5 minutes, the machine disables the safety device bypass system, switches on the buzzer in the cab and locks all machine controls (red light "C" of indicator (25) in the cab is on). In this case, the safety device bypass system needs to be enabled again by turning switch (200) to position "0" first and then to position "1", so as to give the operator another 5 minutes to carry out all the necessary manoeuvres aimed at restoring safe operating conditions. At the end of these manoeuvres, remember to turn switch (200) back to position "0". USE OF STABILIZERS WHILE RESTORING SAFE MACHINE OPERATION The use of stabilizers while operating your machine in a safety device bypass mode is subject to the following three conditions being met: - the turret should be aligned with the machine chassis - the telescopic boom should be fully retracted - the telescopic boom should be fully lowered, in a suitable position for road travel In order to move the stabilizers, the following two conditions need be met first: - the machine should not be in an overload condition - the machine should not be in a tilting condition Should a stabilizer fault or malfunction occur, you can enable the safety device bypass mode to remove your machine from the operating area and take it to a safe place, where it can be repaired. To do so, please follow the instructions below: - enable the safety device bypass mode as described in the corresponding paragraph - lift the stabilizer feet, so as to let your machine rest on wheels again - engage the first gear - move your machine: seek the help of an off-vehicle operator, who can check the total space occupied by your machine with extended stabilizers - proceed slowly and with maximum caution
