L.C. Doan’s solid state dual function hangar lighting systems were recently

fielded onboard the USS Oscar Austin & USS George H.W. Bush. The

company supplies fleet forces with cost effective survivable & energy efficient

lighting systems.

The RivGen® Power System, one of ORPC’s flagship products, is designed

for generating reliable, renewable electricity in rivers near remote “islanded”

communities with no access to large, centralized power grids.

While most people associate iRobot with a hugely successful line of robotic

vacuums used for the home, the company has deep roots with the

Department of Defense, originally utilizing the SBIR program to develop

robots for the battlefield.

Ginkgo Bioworks creates genetically engineered materials that are good for

the planet. Ginkgo’s organisms are powering innovation in flavors &

fragrance, food & nutrition, agriculture, health and even consumer

electronics. The company designs more DNA than anyone on earth, totaling

more than 250 million base pairs last year.

ANDE moves DNA from the lab to the field and enables law enforcement to

identify individuals at the speed of their investigation. ANDE works with law

enforcement agencies across the US to perform DNA analysis on crime

scene samples with the goal of identifying suspects.

RME’s wave-powered seawater desalination system, known as Wave2O™ ,

will provide regions and communities in developing countries and islands

with clean fresh water at a competitive cost. Wave2O operates completely

“off-grid” and fills a huge gap in the market for seawater desalination

systems.

C3I, Inc. has saved the U.S. Navy over $250 million by replacing flight deck

lights with LEDs. C3I’s lighting solutions are energy efficient, not only in

power consumption, but in shelf life. A sailor will likely never need to replace

these lights during the life of a ship resulting in significant reduction of total

ownership costs.

FarSounder’s flagship Navigation Sonars, partially funded by the DOD SBIR

and other government funded programs, are used today by yachts,

expedition cruise ships, and government and private survey and research

vessels.

Vermont-based MBF Bioscience sells to customers around the globe and the

company has a mission to create innovative tools for researchers that will

help to develop novel treatments for serious neurological disorders.
