Annual General Meeting of State Bank of India Pensioners Federation

23rd & 24th February at IndoreThe captioned meeting was held on the above mentioned

dates, very successfully. Many important items of Agenda

were discussed in details. The main discussion was held

regarding 30% pension to the Family Pensioners, Updation

of Pension in the Banks, Elections of the Federation

(Triennial) and our Court case in the Delhi High Court

regarding 50% of the last drawn salary of the Pensioners.

As our next date of hearing regarding our 50% Court case

in Delhi High Court, is to be heard at Delhi High Court

on 27th March, 2019. It was decided to wait for the

outcome of this hearing of 27.03.2019 and then decide

regarding next course of action, if something concrete

may not happen. Approaching the Chief Justice of Supreme

Court of India is also not ruled out.

2. Meanwhile an important development has taken place

viz. updation of pension in the Banks. The Supreme Court

of India has directed the management of the Reserve

Bank of India to pay the enhanced/updated pension of

their employees w.e.f. March, 2019 itself. Dear members,

this is a very important development as far as our demand

(of all Banks) regarding updation has got boost and due

to this development, our demand for updation of pension

is strengthened. We are also grateful to our working

associations viz. AIBOC & UFBU for their taking up our

this demand vigorously for 30% pension of the Family

Pensioners & updation of pension of the retirees. We also

wish them all the best for their demands of XIth B.P.S.

SIRSA UNIT

Monthly Get-together and Diamond Jubilee :

Sh. S.K. Gupta, Retd. Scale III Officer

A meeting/get-together for the month of February,

2019 held at CMK Library, Sirsa on 23.02.2019 and

the minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed.

During the meeting, Sh. S.K. Gupta has been

honoured on his Diamond Jubilee and awarded

Shawl & a Tea Party was arranged besides a Cake

was also cut and served to the members. Sh. Gupta

has donated Rs.1100/- to the Circle Association. He

also donated 750/- to the Unit.

A silence for 2 minutes was also observed to have

condolences for the departed CRPF Personnals in

Pulwama Terrorist attack on 18th instant.

The meeting ended with thanks to the Chair.

KURUKSHETRA UNIT

In our previous issue of March, it was erroneouslymentioned that office-bearers were elected for oneyear, whereas these office-bearers have been electedfor 2019-2022 instead of 2019 only. The error isregretted.

JALANDHAR UNIT

A very successful Pensioners Meet was held at

Jalandhar, which was attended by more than

160 retirees/pensioners thereat, under the

Chairmanship of Sh. Dinesh Kashyap, the

Assistant General Manager of our Jalandhar

Branch. The meeting started with a "Bhajan"

sung by Sh. Manmohan Lal Sharma.

Sh. Y.P. Suri, Vice President welcomed the guests/

office-bearers from Chandigarh S/Sh. T.R. Gupta,

K.K. Trikha, S.K. Sharma, K.P. Joshi and Tek

Chand, attended the meeting from Chandigarh.

Sh. Dinesh Kashyap, the AGM of Jalandhar

branch also welcomed the office-bearers as well

as all the pensioners for having

come to attend the meeting and assured his all

co-operation & services as far as pensioners

cause is concerned. Sh. Kashyap was present

throughout the proceedings of the meeting and

joined the members for sumptuous lunch thereat.

We appreciate the contribution of Sh. Kashyap

for this kind gesture.

The senior-most pensioner Sh. Labhu Ram Gupta,

aged 91 years old was honoured by the Circle

Association with presentation of Shawl. All the

office-bearers from the Chandigarh were also

honoured by our Jalandhar Unit for that we are

very much grateful to them. S/Sh. Y.P. Suri,

M.R. Vij, Raj Kumar, Love Kumar, Inder Chugh,

Setia and others also graced the meeting with

their presence with love and affection. S/Sh. Y.P.

Suri & M.R. Vij also addressed the gathering.

From Chandigarh, S/Sh. K.P. Joshi (Vice

President), K.K. Trikha (Dy. Gen. Secretary),

T.R. Gupta (General Secretary) spoke on the

various developments of the Circle Association.

Sh. Gupta spoke in details and apprised the

members about latest developments in the SBI

Pensioners Federation and on the banking

industry as a whole as far as our demands are

concerned through the working associations i.e.

AIBOC & UFBU. Sh. Gupta also apprised about

the next date of hearing of our Court Case No

1875/2013 regarding 50% pension of the last

drawn salary of the pensioners and replied the

queries raised by 2-3 members to their

satisfaction. Few photographs taken thereat in

the meeting are also published alongwith.

PANCHKULA UNIT

The monthly meeting of our this unit was held on 14.03.2019 at Z.O. Panchkula. Sh. T.R. Gupta,

General Secretary was felicitated with garlands on his election as Vice President of the Federation

of SBI Pensioners. Light refreshment was also served and activities were also announced by Sh.

Subhash Kapoor (Secretary) and Sh. A.K. Sawhney, the Vice President. Few photographs of the

CHANDIGARH UNIT

Two Doctors from various hospitals delivered the

talks of their Medical field/subject on our weekly

meeting i.e. on Wednesdays. A medical check-

up camp was also held for the members of Tricity

of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali.

The members of our weekly Wednesday meetings

i.e. on 06.03.2019, honoured Sh. T.R. Gupta,

General Secretary of our Circle Association on

his election as Vice President of the Federation

of SBI Pensioners for the period of February

2019 to February, 2022 i.e. for 3 years. The

meeting was organised as usual and light

refreshments were also served to the members.
