materials. The standard is made of structured

plastic, but they also come in a choice of leather

or wood to match the trim of the instrument

panel or steering wheel.

The Scania Opticruise system is a gear-

changing intelligence to maximise driveability,

fuel economy and, above all, driver comfort.

With only a small movement of the hand, and

touch of the right-hand steering wheel lever,

you excel in hilly conditions and manoeuvre

with milli metre precision.

The steering column offers stepless adjustment for

maximum comfort. Controls needed while driving are

integrated in the steering wheel. Inside the steering wheel

you also fi nd the optional airbag for extra protection.

Integrated in the instrument panel, the

optional radio smartly follows the lines of

the design. The smaller radio has both CD

and MP3 players. With an AUX-in connector

you can link personal audio players to the

system. A larger radio is available as option,

featuring navigation and the possibility to

connect a rear view camera. Regardless of

choice, the radio plays an integrated part

in a sound working environ ment and can

be controlled from the steering wheel.

Optional bluetooth enables handsfree

phone calls.

On the Scania traction panel, all controls

for differential lock, traction control and

weight transfer are grouped intuitively in a

panel’s lower section from driver side to passenger

side, and also the upper side of the lower storage.

The instrument cluster offers a choice of performance steps. Basic (1)

includes all essential functionality on a monochrome 3.8-inch display.

Colour (2) has an extra fi eld for personal settings, while Colour Plus

(3) offers two. They also have larger displays in colour – 4.1 and 6.5

inches respectively. Display menus are controlled in the instrument

panel, or in the steering wheel.

The sill strip is available in four different styles.

The standard version comes in aluminium. For

those with higher demands, there is a sturdier

off-road version. Of course, it is also available

with V8-styling. Additionally, there is a golden-

haze, Scania Streamline version available.

for back and thighs – ideal choice to balance

high demands of comfort and economy. Medium

the premium seat is a double-jointed backrest

the angle of the armrest to be adjusted.

Options include a space-saving folding seat

that converts to a table. This seat with adjust-

able backrest and head restraint can only be

fi tted on the passenger side.

Folded up, it can also provide extra mobili-

ty inside the cab. It has a safety belt attached

to the cab wall.

The passenger bench seat has room for two,

with individual safety belts for both. There

is a storage compartment on the rear of the

backrest as well as cup holders in the inner

seat backrest. Developed for Scania day and

short cabs and ideal for transport applica-

tions where the driver has one or two assis-

tants, such as in removal or refuse trucks.

On top of the permanent, waterproof rubber mat

that covers the cab fl oor, protective fl oor mats are

placed at the feet and on the engine tunnel for a

pleasant cab environment. Floor mats are available

all in rubber or with textile inlay. For the engine

tunnel, the V8 has an exclusive mat in genuine

black leather.

Floor mat options:

1. Rubber. Black surface pattern to prevent

slipping and is easy to clean.

2. Textile grey. Upper side in soft durable fabric

that is a warm and cosy.

3. Textile sand. Light creates a premium feeling

and is easy to keep clean.

With every Scania cab, there is a sense of quality in the air. It is a matter of comfort

and safety in the workplace.

The heating and ventilation systems on all cabs have been developed to provide

fast demisting and an even distribution of temperature. The ventilation systems can

change all the air very quickly even in the largest cab, ensuring a constant supply of

fresh air to keep the driver alert. On the road, extra ventilation and auxiliary heaters

can provide added comfort to adapt to any environment.

A healthy working environment.

At one with nature.To cool and dry the air quickly, air condi-

tioning is available for both manual and

automatic climate systems.

Auxiliary heaters are primarily intended for

heating the cab when the engine is switched

off, but can also provide extra heating while

the truck is on the move. They come in a

variety of forms for different conditions:

• Short-stop heater. Keeps the cab air

warm with the engine switched off, for up

to up to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Circulates

the engine coolant through a water pump.

• Airborne cab heater. Circulates the cab

air through a heating system with a choice

of performance steps: 2 kW or 4 kW. 2 kW

provides heat down to an ambient tem-

perature of –5 °C in a sleeper cab and

down to –20 °C in a short cab. 4 kW can

heat even larger cabs down to –20 °C too.

• Cab and engine heater. Starts in tem-

peratures down to –30 °C, regardless of

cab size. Engine coolant is heated by a

separate diesel burner.

includes the essentials: dome lamps, bedlamps and

a light switch on the driver’s side. Exclusive is more

comprehensive. Here, the dome lamps have refl ectors

to improve the spread of light, and integrated reading

lamps which make reading in the dark on both sides

easier. Adjustable bedlamps and a delay relay that keep

lights on shortly after a door is shut and turned on

after the key is removed, provides extra convenience.

The lighting is also adapted to the various types of cab.

Exclusive with background lighting further increases

comfort and safety. Red LED lamps integrated around

the cab create a pleasant environment and can be lit

while driving.

tioning is available for both manual and

automatic climate systems.

Auxiliary heaters are primarily intended for

heating the cab when the engine is switched

off, but can also provide extra heating while

the truck is on the move. They come in a

variety of forms for different conditions:

• Short-stop heater. Keeps the cab air

warm with the engine switched off, for up

to up to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Circulates

the engine coolant through a water pump.

• Airborne cab heater. Circulates the cab

air through a heating system with a choice

of performance steps: 2 kW or 4 kW. 2 kW

provides heat down to an ambient tem-

perature of –5 °C in a sleeper cab and

down to –20 °C in a short cab. 4 kW can

heat even larger cabs down to –20 °C too.

• Cab and engine heater. Starts in tem-

peratures down to –30 °C, regardless of

cab size. Engine coolant is heated by a

separate diesel burner.

– a folding version fi tted in a panel above

the door, or a blind fi tted on the door and

out of the way when climbing in and out.

The blind covers the whole width of the

window. A sun visor fi tted above the wind-

An active safety approach. With a focus on preventing accidents instead of just

minimising their effects, Scania offers a variety of high-

tech support systems.

Lane departure warning is practical aid that warns

the driver if the vehicle is about to cross the road mark-

ings. The system automatically detects the road markings

and advises the driver when the vehicle combination is

too close to the oncoming lane or ditch markings.

Collision warning and emergency braking are

automated systems that help the driver avoid collisions.

The truck scans the road ahead and if there is a risk of

collision, the driver is alerted. If the speed is not reduced,

the system automatically brakes to prevent an impact.

Adaptive cruise control assists the driver to maintain

a constant time gap to vehicles in front. It can be set with

time gaps in fi ve stages, and uses engine, retarder and

service brake to maintain the set distance. The driver

receives warning in the display when the distance to

the vehicle in front is too small, even if cruise control

is not activated.

The windows in your Scania cab are designed, not just for maximum visibility, but

also with built-in protection all around. Insulation in various ways reduces the

noise level from outside to a minimum and keeps glass from shattering if broken.

Two rotating beacons can also be mounted

on an aluminium bar on the roof. This is

particularly useful in construction, and makes

the vehicle visible even in angles from above

on site.

There are four types of light combinations

available in the refi ned sun visor, with the end-

outline marker lamps as standard on all cabs.

Three lamps in the middle of the sun visor are

identifi cation lights to indicate a certain type of

vehicle depending on national requirements

– size and weight for example. To further in-

crease the fi eld of vision, two rectangular spot

lamps can be fi tted in the external sun visor.

Their high location illuminates barriers on the

light bulbs, thus increases overall uptime. It is

Two rotating beacons can also be mounted

on an aluminium bar on the roof. This is

particularly useful in construction, and makes

the vehicle visible even in angles from above

on site.

There are four types of light combinations

position and colour of the grab handles

inside the cab, makes climbing in and out

quick, easy and safe.

For easy inspections behind the cab, a boarding

step can be fi tted in connection to both door

handles. This option also comes with handles

on the roof and back of the cab for maximum

convenience.

The cab’s lower front grille panel opens up to

provide a uniquely sturdy platform on which to

stand when cleaning the windscreen, camera

and auxiliary lights. Vehicles fi tted with the

130 mm protruding bumper have an even more

robust design, with an integrated footstep to

stand on. These vehicles are also fi tted with

assisting handles below the windscreen for

reach and stability.
