off, but can also provide extra heating while

the truck is on the move. They come in a

variety of forms for different conditions:

• Short-stop heater. Keeps the cab air

warm with the engine switched off, for up

to up to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Circulates

the engine coolant through a water pump.

• Airborne cab heater. Circulates the cab

air through a heating system with a choice

of performance steps: 2 kW or 4 kW. 2 kW

provides heat down to an ambient tem-

perature of –5 °C in a sleeper cab and

down to –20 °C in a short cab. 4 kW can

heat even larger cabs down to –20 °C too.

• Cab and engine heater. Starts in tem-

peratures down to –30 °C, regardless of

cab size. Engine coolant is heated by a

separate diesel burner.

The automatic climate system controls

temperature, fan speed and distribution of

air through sensors. The driver only needs to

set the desired temperature. It has recirculation,

air conditioning and can be combined with

all other auxiliary heaters. The climate system

also comes in a manual version, which allows

the driver to manually set temperature and fan

speed to comfortable levels.

Interior lighting is crucial for comfort. Basic version

includes the essentials: dome lamps, bedlamps and

a light switch on the driver’s side. Exclusive is more

comprehensive. Here, the dome lamps have refl ectors

to improve the spread of light, and integrated reading

lamps which make reading in the dark on both sides

easier. Adjustable bedlamps and a delay relay that keep

lights on shortly after a door is shut and turned on

after the key is removed, provides extra convenience.

The lighting is also adapted to the various types of cab.

Exclusive with background lighting further increases

comfort and safety. Red LED lamps integrated around

the cab create a pleasant environment and can be lit

while driving.

Soft light in the central storage unit makes it easy

to access when driving in the dark.

A pleasant atmosphere.

A roof hatch increases cab comfort by

providing an extra space and ventilation.

Manual or electric version, the hatch can

be opened forward, backward or straight.

The electric roof hatch is transparent for

extra light, with curtain and mosquito net.

The roof hatch is operated from the driver

area or the lower bed.

With every Scania cab, there is a sense of quality in the air. It is a matter of comfort

and safety in the workplace.

The heating and ventilation systems on all cabs have been developed to provide

fast demisting and an even distribution of temperature. The ventilation systems can

change all the air very quickly even in the largest cab, ensuring a constant supply of

fresh air to keep the driver alert. On the road, extra ventilation and auxiliary heaters

can provide added comfort to adapt to any environment.

A healthy working environment.

At one with nature. To cool and dry the air quickly, air condi-

With a perspective from all angles you see things differently. From the inside of

a Scania cab, large windows and narrow A-pillars provide panoramic views to the

right, left and centre. Adjustable mirrors and cameras around the cab help you keep

Front view mirror. To see directly in front of the vehicle.

A front view camera allows you to see in the

blind spots directly in front of the cab. When

coupling a trailer or a semi-trailer, a rear view

camera will make the task far easier and help

avoid costly or serious accidents.

Depending on your needs, the rear view mirrors

come with or without aerodynamic casing.

An integrated sun visor protects from direct

sun light at the side. There are two different

interior side sun visors to choose from

– a folding version fi tted in a panel above

the door, or a blind fi tted on the door and

out of the way when climbing in and out.

The blind covers the whole width of the

window. A sun visor fi tted above the wind-

screen on the outside comes as standard.

An active safety approach. With a focus on preventing accidents instead of just

minimising their effects, Scania offers a variety of high-

tech support systems.

Lane departure warning is practical aid that warns

the driver if the vehicle is about to cross the road mark-

ings. The system automatically detects the road markings

and advises the driver when the vehicle combination is

too close to the oncoming lane or ditch markings.

Collision warning and emergency braking are

automated systems that help the driver avoid collisions.

The truck scans the road ahead and if there is a risk of

collision, the driver is alerted. If the speed is not reduced,

the system automatically brakes to prevent an impact.

Adaptive cruise control assists the driver to maintain

a constant time gap to vehicles in front. It can be set with

time gaps in fi ve stages, and uses engine, retarder and

service brake to maintain the set distance. The driver

receives warning in the display when the distance to

the vehicle in front is too small, even if cruise control

is not activated.

The windows in your Scania cab are designed, not just for maximum visibility, but

also with built-in protection all around. Insulation in various ways reduces the

noise level from outside to a minimum and keeps glass from shattering if broken.

And there is a variety of windows to pick from. Extra windows on the side and at

the back of the cabin can also be fi tted for extended visibility and sense of space.

A safe and sound working environment.• Tinted windscreen. The windscreen has a green tint that refl ects heat and

prevents incoming light from dazzling the driver.

• Single glass. The cab is supplied with door windows in single glass.

• Laminated glass. A plastic fi lm holds the glass together if crushed or cracked.

• Double glazing. Two pains of toughened glass with air in between.

Protects against heat, cold and insulates noise. Very diffi cult to break.

For driver and passenger door windows.

A black contrast tape can be routed from

the A-pillar and up around the door windows.

This style option enhances the shape. With

the grille and windscreen it creates that

distinctive look of the Scania cab.

on an aluminium bar on the roof. This is

particularly useful in construction, and makes

the vehicle visible even in angles from above

on site.

There are four types of light combinations

available in the refi ned sun visor, with the end-

outline marker lamps as standard on all cabs.

Three lamps in the middle of the sun visor are

identifi cation lights to indicate a certain type of

vehicle depending on national requirements

– size and weight for example. To further in-

crease the fi eld of vision, two rectangular spot

lamps can be fi tted in the external sun visor.

Their high location illuminates barriers on the

road, such as high banks.

The sun visor can be gotten in any choosen

cab colour, either fully or partly painted.

Correct lighting is of course a matter of safety on the road. For you and others.

And all Scania cabs carry the lights to lead in every direction. At the same time,

it shows character. It is easy to see how a Scania cab stands out in many ways.

A guiding light.

The headlamp unit includes direction indica-

tors, position lights and side indicator lamps.

Headlamp units are fi tted with a H4 halogen

as standard for dipped beam and Xenon or

H7 as option. Xenon improves the fi eld of

vision in all types of weather, and a produces

a powerful light less straining to the eyes.

Both H7 and Xenon options come with

integrated LED daytime running lights.

The direction of the roof sign illumination

varies depending on cab height. Topline cabs

light up the large space above the windscreen,

and provide a perfect stage to put a company

logotype in the spotlight. In lower cabs, the

light is directed towards the air roof defl ectors.

The bumper has four lamp outlets. The spot

lamps use the inner two. They increase the

length of vision and can only be used with the

main beam. The outer two outlets are for fog

lamps. They reduce glare in fog, heavy rain or

snow, and can be used without the main beam.

Fog lamps can be replaced by daytime running

lights with LED, to make the vehicle even more

visible and reduce operation costs.

Tail light alternatives now include LED-lights as

factory option. LED lasts longer than ordinary

light bulbs, thus increases overall uptime. It is

also more effi cient, and over time it helps to

save important drops of fuel. Taillights with

ordinary light bulbs are also available.

Checking the vehicle before going on the road provides a safe work environment.

With easy access to all checking points, exterior inspections can be carried out with

quality and comfort. And surrounded by external storage spaces and easy cab entry,

driver convenience is clear to see.

Always at your service.

The whole front panel is surprisingly light and

easy to lift up. From here, it is possible to check

all fl uid levels and there is easy access to the

air fi lter. Electrical fuses and relays are accessed

from inside the cab, where they are safe and

secure from moisture and dirt.

The G- and R-series sleeper cabs give access

from both sides of the cab to a large external

storage compartment under the bed. This is

equipped with lighting and provides a secure

out-of-sight place for bulky equipment, cleaning

materials, tools or personal items.

Depending on the height of the cab, the

boarding steps come in two or three steps.

Every step has a non-slip surface and is

spaced to provide safe and ergonomic entry

into the cab. For high chassis working in

tough conditions a fl exible boarding step can

be attached to simplify entry. Boarding step

lights lead the way in the dark. The design,

position and colour of the grab handles

inside the cab, makes climbing in and out

quick, easy and safe.

For easy inspections behind the cab, a boarding

step can be fi tted in connection to both door

handles. This option also comes with handles

on the roof and back of the cab for maximum

convenience.

The cab’s lower front grille panel opens up to

provide a uniquely sturdy platform on which to

stand when cleaning the windscreen, camera

and auxiliary lights. Vehicles fi tted with the

130 mm protruding bumper have an even more

robust design, with an integrated footstep to

stand on. These vehicles are also fi tted with

assisting handles below the windscreen for

reach and stability.
