    Joseph H. Seaman

    Mar^” of us feel very deeply the loss that has come

    to East Hampton by rgason of the death of the late Joseph

    H. Seaman,Wi

    Mr. Seaman was descended from oh6 W the original

    settlers of Hempstead. Mr. Seaman himself dwelt for many

    years in East Hampton, and won for himself the wholehearted

    respect and affection of the community. He enjoyed his

    residence here for many years, and v/as active in all public

    causes which affected the village.Although Mr. Seaman retired from his Vi/all Street

    activities in 1935, he remained until his death an active

    director of the Victor Chemical Morks.While a resident of East Hampton Mr. Seaman entertained

    many of his friends upon nis yucnt, ’’Savita”. He was a memper

    of the Union, Grolier and New York Yacht Clubs, the NationalA. V,e 0 Vv c CA '« 4

    Golf Links of AmericaVand the Devon Yacht Club.

    Mr. Seaman won the support and genuine esteem of those

    who knew him. He was a good friend, and a great believer in

    East Hampton, which in all respects had won his heart. He

    was a rare character. All who knew nim held him in the

    highest respect and affection.

    respect and sympathy to be spread upon the minutes, and

    direct that a copy of this resolution be sent to the son

    of Mr. Joseph H. Seaman in token of the high esteem in which the members of these Boards held Mr. Seaman.
