CAMPAIGN PRAYER
Eternal Father, through your Beloved Son Jesus and
the intercession of Our Lady of the Lake, pour out your Holy Spirit on
our Campaign.
You have blessed Our Lady of the Lake Parish abundantly. Thank you for all those who came before us to provide our beautiful church and campus. May the gifts and labor we now offer begin in your mercy and be brought to completion by your saving help.
Open our minds to your thoughts.
Open our hearts to your generosity. Open our hands to the work you have prepared for us, so that we may hand on with increase that which we
received from the faithful hands of others.
We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
JUNTOS SIGAMOS ADELANTE
Abre nuestras mentes a tu entendimiento.
Abre nuestros corazones a tu generosidad.

Bible Study - The Acts of the Apostles
Join Deacon Patrick and Kalala as they facilitate a 20 week bible study on the Acts of the Apostles. Acts is the story of the early Church and how a few Christians empowered
by the Holy Spirit were chosen to bring Christ and the Good News to the ends of the earth. They faced secular forces, internal strife, and hostile crowds, and despite all of
this, they brought the kingdom of God to a broken world and the love of God to the hearts of all.
This 20 week bible study will be offered on two days. It begins Monday, September 23rd at 9:30am or Tuesday, September 24th at 6:30pm in the St. John Paul II garage.
To register please call Silvia at the Religious Education Office. The cost for Acts of the Apostles' workbook is $30.00.
REFLECTION FOR 22ND SUNDAY
GENEROSITY IN GIVING
The readings describe the attitudes we should have when we give and when we receive. They also reveal that only those who are humble can receive the gift of God.
That is to say humility is the prerequisite for receiving gifts. Without a humble spirit we are unable to receive gifts as gift. This is because we are too proud or we do not know how to receive with the open hearts of children.
First reading praises the person who is humble. “My son, conduct your affairs with humility and you will be loved more than a giver of gifts,” (Sir 3:17). A humble person is conscious of his own weakness, and never rejects wisdom, no matter where it comes from. Such a person will find favor with God and with his friends and neighbors. Pride however raises a barrier to God's graciousness and to communion with our fellows.
This ties in with the gospel where the key phrase is "everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and anyone who humble himself will be exalted ". Here, Jesus criticizes those who thrust themselves forward and who engineer their way to the top. This is what He observed with the Pharisees at the wedding banquet.
The Pharisees were scrabbling for the places of honor, showing just how proud, vain and selfish. They were there not to honor the host but honor themselves. And Jesus teaches that is not the way to gain honor. Honor in the Kingdom of God comes from the host, not from the guest. God confers honor to those who are humble.
Each Sunday we are invited to a banquet of the Eucharist. Here Jesus is the host, and we are the guests. Here there are no special places...you can sit where you wish. Here privilege, status, and rank have no meaning. Difference don't count. Before God we are all equal.
When we enter this church we're all humbled because we realize that we're creatures and our very existence is a gift. But we are also exalted because here we realize our true greatness which consist in the fact that we are children of God.
Let us pray for the grace to always be humble and gentle in our dealings with others. That is the way of the Lord, that is the way to be exalted and promoted in the Kingdom of God.
Fr. Julius
Prayer for Vocations
Lord of the Harvest, help us to create a true culture of discernment and vocations in our parish so that all of us in this parish family may
seek to faithfully offer our lives as a loving response to your first gift of life and love.
Illumine our families to be a light, working together to bring your kingdom of justice and peace, not just here in this community,
but in the whole world. By your Holy Spirit,
may our hearts burn more and more to know Your Son, Jesus Christ, and to make Him known forever. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Michael, the Archangel
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl
about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER (For those who are not able to receive Communion at this time)
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I
desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least
spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never
permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Blest Are They David Haas
Blest are they, the poor in spirit, theirs is the kingdom of God. Blest are they, full of sorrow, they shall be consoled. Refrain: Rejoice and be glad! Blessed are you, holy are you! Rejoice and be glad! Yours is the kingdom of God! Blest are they, the lowly ones, they shall inherit the earth. Blest are they who hunger and thirst, they shall have their fill. Blest are they who show mercy, mercy shall be theirs. Blest are they, the pure of heart, they shall see God! Blest are they who seek peace; they are the children of God. Blest are they who suffer in faith, the glory of God is theirs. Blest are you who suffer hate, all because of me. Rejoice and be glad, yours is the kingdom; shine for all to see.

They’ll Know We Are Christians Peter Scholtes
We are one in the spirit, we are one in the Lord, we are one in the spirit, we are one in the Lord, and we pray that all unity may one day be restored: And they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love, yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love. We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand, we will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand, and together we’ll spread the news that God is in our land: We will work with each other, we will work side by side, we will work with each other, we will work side by side, and we’ll guard human’s dignity and save human’s pride.

The Cry of the Poor John B. Foley
Refrain: The Lord hears the cry of the poor. Blessed be the Lord. I will bless the Lord at all times, with praise ever in my mouth. Let my soul glory in the Lord, who will hear the cry of the poor. Let the lowly hear and be glad: the Lord listens to their pleas; and to hearts broken God is near, who will hear the cry of the poor. Ev’ry spirit crushed God will save; will be ransom for their lives; will be safe shelter for their fears, and will hear the cry of the poor. We proclaim your greatness, O God, your praise ever in our mouth; ev’ry face brightened in your light, for you hear the cry of the poor.

Table of Plenty Dan Schutte
Refrain: Come to the feast of heaven and earth! Come to the table of plenty! God will provide for all that we need, here at the table of plenty. O come and sit at my table where saints and sinners are friends. I wait to welcome the lost and lonely to share the cup of my love. O come and eat without money; come to drink without price. My feast of gladness will feed your spirit with faith and fullness of life.
Psalm 68
God, in your goodness, you have made a home for the poor.

Creo Señor mío que éstas realmente presente en el Santísimo Sacramento del altar. Te amo sobre todas las cosas y deseo ardientemente recibirte dentro de mi alma;
espiritualmente a mi corazón.
Amen.
Oración a San Miguel Arcángel

Danos Un Corazón Juan A. Espinosa
Salmo 67

Gloria a Nuestro Dios
Tradicional
