Best In The Desert GuidelinesBest In The Desert reminds all fans, racers, and sponsors to stay home if experiencing any symptoms including fever, cough, shortness of breath, or fatigue. Other COVID-19 precautions include the following event protocol:• You must Wear a face mask on-site at all times (mandated by Nevada Governor)• Practice social distancing by staying six feet apart• Use hand sanitizer and wash hands often• Park more than 10 feet away from neighbors• Please stay home and consider attending a future event if you are considered at high risk• Please remain in pit area when not racing• Refrain from wandering or visiting neighbors• Leave no trace and pack out trash• Avoid touching the face

Future events will be contingent on how closely attendees follow these health and safety measures. Please help keep the Best In The Desert 2020 racing series safe and successful!

Hotel GuidelinesSunset Station Hotel and Casino in Henderson will be the host hotel for Maxxis Tire Casey Folks “Vegas to Reno” presented by Fox. In order to adhere to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) national guidelines, every guest who enters the hotel and casino will be thermally scanned. Guests who have a temperature exceeding 100.3 degrees Fahrenheit will need to be rescanned after five to eight minutes.

Guests will also be asked to wear a face mask and follow social distancing guidelines of six feet. Best In The Desert kindly asks fans and racers to be respectful to hotel staff and security as everyone moves ahead with the Maxxis Tire Casey Folks “Vegas to Reno” presented by Fox.

Wednesday, August 12, 2020: Time Trials for 1000, 1500, 6100, 7200, and Trick Truck ClassesTime Trials include complete full tech inspection so racers who attend Time Trials will not be required to attend the Tech and Event Expo on Thursday.

Thursday, August 13, 2020: Mandatory Driver’s MeetingThe Driver’s Meeting will be pre-recorded and posted to the Best In The Desert Instagram and Facebook pages in the morning. Racers can comment with questions and concerns and Best In The Desert will respond as soon as possible via social media platforms.

Thursday, August 13, 2020: Registration to pick up armbands (only those needing armbands should attend to adhere to social distancing recommendations; parents can accompany minors; please bring your own pen to sign documents)

If a racer is unable to attend with the rest of their team, they can pick up their armband at any time. Best In The Desert asks that racers adhere to their registration times in order to keep the number of people congregating as low as possible.

Thursday, August 13, 2020: Tech and Event Expo: Arm-banded racer with pre-sterilized helmet and suit must accompany their vehicle.

Display and vendor stands at the Event Expo will be operated in accordance with local health standards which include a limited number of participants, hand sanitizer at every display, and social distancing space between stands. Promotional activities including autograph signing, kids activities, large ceremonies, or group presentations will not be allowed.

All Cars, Trucks, and UTVs will trailer through the Event Expo unless they are in enclosed trailers. In that case, they will need to offload and drive through Tech in assigned lines. All Motorcycles and Quads will drive through the Tech and Event Expo in their support trucks unless they are in enclosed trailers which will need to be offloaded to also go through assigned lines (same lines as support vehicles).

Contingency forms will be sent out to driver of record through email and are posted on the Best In The Desert website. Decals will be provided in the final registration packet.

Welcome to the epic adventure of a lifetime, the 2020 MAXXIS Tires “Casey Folks” Vegas to Reno Presented by FOX.

Casey’s dream was the birth of “The American Off-Road Racing Series” and the legendary “Vegas to Reno”, our flagship race. ”Vegas to Reno” is recognized around the world as the longest, and toughest off-road race in the United States. We are proud to honor Casey by naming his favorite race after him.

The initial running of the Best In The Desert “Vegas to Reno” race in 1996 marked the first time Casey Folks had the foresight to include all car, truck, motorcycle and quad classes in one of his events. His love for the sport, and his innate ability to organize hundreds of racers, crew, route workers and spectators amidst miles and miles of challenging and electrifying terrain, led BITD to what it is today. The 2020 MAXXIS Tires “Casey Folks” Vegas to Reno Presented by Fox will always include his name.

Best In The Desert proved to the off-road racing community that we could organize a large event successfully while keeping racers, staff, volunteers, and spectators safe in the midst of COVID-19 at the recent running of the VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by RZR. Because of respect and the excellent job racers and their crew showed at the last race, we now are ready to run the race we are best known for in our 24th year.

The 2020 MAXXIS Tires “Casey Folks” Vegas to Reno Presented by FOX race-course spans 550 miles of grueling Nevada desert between Las Vegas and Reno. Starting near Beatty, Nevada, racers will compete all day, and most into the night to reach the finish line in Dayton, Nevada. This year’s course features some significant changes to the route from years past, traversing some extremely challenging and unique terrain, which is exciting for all loyal racers and fans who have been coming to the “Vegas to Reno” event for years.

This year’s race also marks the second round of the MAXXIS Triple Crown which means the top three finishers in Unlimited Cars/Trucks, Limited Cars/Trucks, UTVs and Motorcycle/Quad classes will take home an additional $67,000 in bonus money from Best In The Desert on top of their normal payout. Bonuses include $25,000 for the Unlimited Car and Truck Class winner; $7,500 for the Limited Car and Truck Class winner; $7,500 for the top UTV and $3,500 for the winner of the Pro Motorcycle/Quad Class. Results will also count towards the year-end Best In The Desert Series Class Championships, MAXXIS Triple Crown Series Championships, and the all-new “Adventure Series” that started with the recent Silver State 300 and includes the rest of the year’s races.

Despite a challenging start to the 2020 racing series with COVID-19 postponements, Best In The Desert is ready to finish the year strong. Now it’s time to go racing and take part in this extraordinary desert race named in Casey’s honor to celebrate his dream and experience his passion.

Motorsports Safety Solutions

is a Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services’ provider specializing in competitive dirt sport events. The company started in 2009 out of a need to organize and formalize groups who had been volunteering at various events. The company Motorsports Safety Solutions, was created to bring together the numerous dedicated and professional teams that followed various racing series, the goal being to ensure a standard of care and build connections with racers, crews, and staff. By having a relationship and knowledge of their clients, along with those they are there to protect, they are able to have a true vested interest in racers and at the end of the day, their patients. All members of the Motorsports Safety Solutions team are volunteers and come from diverse backgrounds and experience. The team includes professional fire fighters, paramedics, nurses, EMTs, and doctors. They are also fortunate to have law enforcement officers and other professionals who share in their mission and passion of helping racers. These special individuals include people who, during the week, may be mechanics or fabricators, but work as medics or responders for their team on

each at the season opening Parker “425” to enter the special Trick Truck Challenge “side bet wager” between themselves within the

while providing superior corrosion resistance. Completing the

blacked-out finish of these high-end Raptor shocks is the polished
