Summary of Systemic Deficiencies:

Building Envelope Deficiencies

• Building Envelope (Single pane windows – many inoperable windows).

• Security at existing doors.

Code Deficiencies

• Toilet rooms and fixtures not ADA compliant.

• No ADA accessibility to existing classrooms.

• No automatic sprinkler system and out of date fire alarm.

MEP System Deficiencies

• Outdated intercom and clock systems

• Outdated Technology (no infrastructure for WiFi and teaching technology).

• HVAC, no air conditioning.

Building Interior Deficiencies

• Lighting does not meet current BCPS / code lighting standards.

• Kitchen equipment outdated.

• Elevator does not serve all levels and is not ADA compliant.

• No ADA compliant signage.

Summary of Systemic Improvements:

Building Envelope Improvements:

• Replacement of window curtain wall system and windows throughout the entire facility.

• Replacement of all exterior doors.

Code Improvements:

• Install sprinkler system throughout the entire building.

• Replacement of all doors and hardware.

MEP System Improvements:

• Upgrade mechanical system to all year round climate control thru central heating and

central cooling.

• Replace all exhaust vents

• Upgrade Plumbing Systems

• Replacement of electrical switchboard, panelboards and branch circuits

• Replacement of all interior lights and all exterior lights

• Replacement of light controls

Building Interior Improvements:

• Renovation of group restrooms to be in compliance with ADA guidelines

• Replace kitchen equipment and serving line layout.

• Replacement of the elevator to access all floors.

• Provide ADA compliant room signs

•Advance Tech Lab.

•Graphics Communication Lab

•Broadcast & Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Bio Lab

Special Ed Classrooms are Undersized:

•No support spaces

•Located in the corridor by gymnasium.

Music Program:

•Undersized

•Lacking the required support spaces.

Physical Education:

•Weight room is located in an unventilated space

•Area is only accessible from outside.

Art program:

• Original to facility

• Lacking support spaces.

• Renovation of Graphic Arts program.

Physical Education:

• New Cardio Fitness program located in the Gymnasium wing.

• Weight Room moved inside of building.

General Building Improvements:

• Renovation of the Advance Path Testing.

• Renovation of the Health Suite to comply with MSDE guidelines.

• Relocation of the Administration to provide surveillance.
