Process OutcomeFalls Creek Resort ManagementWayfinding and Signage Project

The expertise of many of the in-house departments at Schiavello was required to make the Falls Creek Resort Management Wayfinding and Signage Project a reality.

The full service model that we offer at Schiavello enabled collaboration with research and development, engineers and designers to deliver on the technical and aesthetical requirements of the brief.

The brief from designers, Büro North required 36 signs, some 4.2 meters high, with one of the KPI’s being that the signage needed to withstand winds in excess of 160 kilometers an hour.

Working closely with Büro North and having access to the Schiavello Group’s in-house teams ensured that the signage we delivered met all the engineering requirements.

It was our ability to work closely with the designers to refine the brief that saw us deliver this involved signage project.

Our congratulations go to Büro North on recieving the highest honour at the Melbourne Advertising and Design Club (MADC) awards 2010 in the Best Signage / Environmental Design category for this project.

SustainabilitySchiavello has an established reputation of leading environmental performance from the design stage through to production, with an internationally accredited Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO 14001.

In fact in 1997, Schiavello was the first Australian organisation in its sector to achieve this qualification. We have developed and maintained a comprehensive environmental policy, with a full time environmental manager for more than 10 years. The business is continuously reducing its environmental impact and seeking new ways towards better production.

Research and development into new technologies, materials and processes assist Schiavello to deliver greener outcomes. This led to the introduction of the world’s most advanced MDF powder coating plant, delivering a high quality finish, increased indoor air quality, complete recyclability and design freedom.

Working with reputable, local suppliers is a major component to this initiative, from certified forest timber suppliers, E0 MDF (zero formaldehyde-emitting Medium Density Fibreboard) or providing a take-back program. This is supported by local producers, thus reducing the heavy impact of transportation and waste.

Robert De MarcoContract Manager

A qualified graphic designer with more than 17 years’ experience in Design, Manufacturing and Project Management.

As team leader and at the forefront of Schiavello Signage Solutions, Robert’s experience balanced with Design and Manufacturing knowledge as a child gained from his father, a Mechanical engineer, has lead him to successfully roll out national programs for Yellow Pages, Medicare, Medibank, Centrelink, Telstra, Falls Creek, Fujitsu and more recently Myer and Glaxso Smith Klien, to name a few.

Rene` PaccagnanProject Manager

A qualified Industrial Designer with more than 8 years’ experience in Product Design, Manufacturing and Project management.

As a highly skilled Project Manager, Rene’s experience along with his ‘hands-on’ and manufacturing experience has led him to successfully manage varying projects with high levels of complexity such as NAB, Monash University, RMIT University, Melbourne University, and more recently Westfield Sydney City, Bistro Guillaume, Sho Noodle Bar and The Atlantic, to name a few.

Ron ColussiProject Manager

A qualified sign writer with over 20 years’ experience, Ron has remained at the forefront of the industries rapidly changing technologies. He has the ability to source and implement new and innovative ideas which can best suit a client’s brief and needs.

He has worked his way through all aspects of the trade in Australia and abroad which has allowed him to develop successful relationships with countless shop fitters and franchises and has proven knowledge and practical experience to rollout and complete major projects in his chosen field such as Myer HQ Docklands, Truenegy Melbourne CBD and Falls Creek Way Finding Signage, to name a few.

Linda BatrasIndustrial Designer

A qualified Industrial Designer with two years’ experience working in Research & Design, Product Design and Manufacturing.

Linda received her degree in Industrial Design from RMIT University in 2009 and joined the Schiavello company shortly after, commencing work under the guidance of our Research and Design department. Now part of the Schiavello Signage Solutions team, she has worked on the development and manufacturing of products for projects such as The Atlantic, Bistro Guillaume, Westpac and Royal Children’s Hospital, to name a few.
