Full-Scholarship Income Qualifications

Scholarships are available for those who demonstrate financial need (see income guidelines below). Need is based on the 2016 Federal Poverty Guidelines. Students from families that demonstrate such need are eligible for one (1) scholarship per month. Please note that scholarships are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Highlights

Children will experiment through play with inclined planes, levers, and pulleys. They will also create a painting using force and motion.

Children will build and take home a mini-planetarium.

Children will investigate various states of matter through experiments and play.

Children will construct volcanoes and observe them erupt.

Children will create and learn to use a thermometer.

Children will construct and launch a hot air balloon and will also build and use (weather permitting) a pizza box solar oven.

Children will make a magnet-powered car that they will get to take home.

Children will explore simulated lunar features.

Children will create shadow puppets to discover properties of light.

Children will learn about the terrestrial planets through various experiments.

Children will discover properties of space rocks and compare them to rocks on Earth.

Children will learn about what it takes to live and work in space.

Created for children ages 3 to 5, these activity-based, hands-on camps explore

science and include STEM elements. Camps are held on the third Saturday of the month.

OverviewThese 90-minute camps — led by Lowell educators — are offered at two times:

8:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. and10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Parents are able to explore topics in physics and astronomy with their children. Activities include science investigations, games, story time, music, engineering, art, and more! Parent attendance is MANDATORY. Max. 12 children per camp. Space is limited, so please register today!

Cost and RegistrationPrices listed are per session. Registration is available online. You may register for one month at a time, or for multiple dates. Register for 11 months, and the 12th month is free! Scholarships are available based upon financial need. Contact Sam Flagg for more information.

Members: $15 per child, $10 for each additional sibling

Non-Members: $20 per child
