Under the Thinking Curriculum, Secondary 1studentsareexposedtoThinkingRoutines,whichare simple protocols for exploring ideas witha view to making students’ thinking visible tothemselvesandotherssothattheycanimproveit.Tomaximisetheireffectiveness,ThinkingRoutinesareintegratedacrossthevarioussubjectsatlowersecondary.
Secondary 2 students undertake Project Work,where they apply the Innovation Protocol cycletoworkonaninterdisciplinarytaskthatrequiresplanning,teamwork,researchandcriticalthinking.Theyarealsorequiredtopresentandjustifytheirproposalsorallyatthefinalpresentation.ThinkingRoutinesareinfusedintoProjectWorkasaformofspiralprogression.
AtSecondary3,studentsconsiderthechallengesoflivinginamulti-ethnicsocietyandwaystocopewith the challenges, using Thinking Routines toidentifyandfocusonissuesorproblems.
