Welcome to Term 1 - week 5, 2016
Parent Concerns and Complaints Throughout the year decisions, actions
and incidents occur that could cause
concerns for parents. The school has a
policy on how parents can attend to their
concerns. This policy also covers
incidents that regress from a concern to a
complaint. A crucial process in the case
of any concern or complaint is
understanding the school’s
Communication Guidelines. Both the
Parent Concerns and Complaints Policy
and the Communication Guidelines have
been included in this newsletter.

The Patch update Over the summer our garden thrived producing plenty of corn, tomatoes, kale, capsicum, silver beet and pumpkin.
This term I have been working with the grade 1& 2's,so far we have started growing seeds, seeds included are leeks,
Brussel sprouts, broccoli, beans, kale and carrots. We are running an experiment with the carrots growing some from
pots and some direct into the garden to see which grow quicker. We have also been collecting seeds for planting later
this year. Included are spring onions, red onions,
broccoli and hundreds of carrot seeds. The children learn that collecting of seeds helps to sustain the veggie garden
program in turn helping our primary school by less spending. Next week we start to learn about composting and how
this will help to reduce landfill. Pip Dyt and the green team are in the process of improving our composting throughout
the school.
At Sunday's working bee there was lots to do at Tucker Rd Primary, this included work in the Veggie Patch. I had three
parents and about 5 children helping in the garden and look at the result!! Work included the spreading of Organic
compost, digging out couch grass around the beds, removal of all the old corn, kale and Tomato plants and a general
tidying up readying the beds for our next lot of planting. Thank you to these SUPURB HELPERS.
I was also given a couple of plants to grow in the school grounds. Now to work out where. Thank you to Danke( sorry
if I spelt your name incorrectly).
Please feel free to contact me direct if you would like to lend a hand.

Calling for volunteers – we need your help!
Our students really enjoy participating in the Commonwealth Bank School Banking program and to keep this program running we need your help. The program requires a volunteer School Banking Co-ordinator to facilitate the banking and distribution of School Banking rewards. This only takes a small amount of your time one day a week and the Commonwealth Bank will provide support in how to run the program. Your help with the program will greatly benefit students as they develop vital saving skills and also help our school with fundraising. Currently, School Banking day is Tuesday If you are interested in volunteering for this great program, please fill in the tear off section below and return it to general office.
Yes, I would like to help with School Banking!
