Special ProgramsEhrhardt is a No Place for Hate School, as we are always focusing on strong academics and character. Furthermore, we have an award-winning choir and a Destination Imagination program that advanced to Globals last year! Other special opportunities for our students include chess club, strings/orchestra, Camp Read-a-lot, healthy cook club, knitting club, safety patrol, book fair, and exciting field trips to the Houston Museum of National Science, Pearl Fincher Art Museum and Wunderlich Farm.

The Ehrhardt Eagles are an active and successful group of students. We have won the trophy for the most participants at the Bearkat Bash Fun Run for the past six years. Our Veterans Day program, put on by our wonderful second graders, shows how patriotic our little athletes can be as they perform routines. This is a definite favorite for our Ehrhardt Eagles and attending Veterans. In November, we challenge the students to jog as many laps as they can in 30 minutes for prizes in our annual turkey trot. Ehrhardt also boasts great results on the Fitnessgram. In May, we hold a field day for each grade level to celebrate our exemplary test scores. This day is filled with cooperative class competitions and a few individual ones as well.

After school day care is available on campus to parents by contracting with Campus Kids.

Ehrhardt students cover the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills with engaging classroom activities. The campus has earned an Exemplary rating for the past three years. Our expert teachers differentiate the curriculum based on each student’s unique learning needs, including those of gifted and talented students and special education students. Ehrhardt follows the KISD curriculum.English Language ArtsIn the elementary ELA program, the emphasis is on the development of fundamental reading and writing skills. Reading instruction includes training in phonics, structural analysis, sight word recognition, context clues, vocabulary development, comprehension, study skills, and literary appreciation. Writing instruction teaches students how to use written language appropriately. Instruction includes specific training in grammar, spelling, handwriting, word usage, punctuation, and capitalization as well as more generalized training in composing written expressions. Skills in speaking and listening are also taught with the instruction for reading and writing.

MathAt the elementary level, students build a foundation of basic understanding for the following: number operation and quantitative reasoning; patterns, relationships, and algebraic thinking; geometry and spatial reasoning; measurement; and probability and statistics.

ScienceAt the elementary level, students learn science foundational skills and how to identify components of the natural world. Students study life, earth, and physical science concepts.

Social StudiesIn grades K-12, students build a foundation in history, geography, economics, government, citizenship, culture, science, technology and society, and social studies skills. The content, as appropriate for the grade level or course, enables students to understand the importance of patriotism, function in a free enterprise society, and appreciate the basic democratic values of our state and nation.
