Purpose of this document:

This COVID19: Risk Assessment and Action Plan document sets out the decisions taken, and measures put in place to prepare for the full opening of the schools and ensure the schoolscontinue to operate in a safe way.

This updated Risk Assessment incorporates the latest Public Health advice, including the Hands Face Space and Fresh Air guidance (March 29 March, 2021)

Schools must comply with health and safety law, which requires them to assess risks and put in place proportionate control measures. Schools should thoroughly review their health andsafety risk assessments and draw up plans for the autumn term that address the risks identified using the system of controls set out below. These are an adapted form of the system ofprotective measures that will be familiar from the summer term. Essential measures include:

Testing for a member of staff whohas previously tested positive

Staff only need to take a further test followinga positive test if they develop NEW COVIDsymptoms . (It is recognised that a cough maylinger for sometime)

Staff who have tested positive do not need anyfurther asymptomatic testing for at least 90days from the date of their positive test

Use of building when pupils not onsite- staff need to follow nationalguidance, and work from homewhere possible.

Use of shared spaces should be used inline with COVID safe measures,ensuring that windows are always openand staff reduce their contact with stafffrom different classes as much aspossible.

H(NB. having a short socially distancedconversation outside is safer than a joint-useinternal space). Staff to reduce face to facecontact with staff from different classes wherepossible.

-Where a face to face meeting is deemedpreferable to a phone call ,or face to facemeeting, staff will be encouraged to keep 2mdistance and to move to spaces where there isgood ventilation, including outside- privacy andweather permitting.

-Three larger staff working areas across thesites have been created to enable collaborativeworking between teachers and therapists etc.

Therapists and nurses are working remotelywhere possible and make appointments withthe teachers and office, clearly communicatingwhen they are intending to work in school. Alltherapists are wearing full PPE when in thebuilding, and adhering to school protocols andgovernment guidance.

123ict visits are starting again from 8th march-,123ICT consultants will follow social distancingrequirements. Masks will be worn in "public"areas and all our consultants will follow yourCV19 protocols. Most consultants are nowbeing supplied lateral flow tests by one of theschools they work with. The tests will becompleted twice weekly

If it is not possible to isolate them,move them to an area which is at least 2metres away from other people.

-If they need to go to the bathroom whilewaiting to be collected, they should use aseparate bathroom if possible. The bathroomshould be cleaned and disinfected usingappropriate cleaning products before beingused by anyone else.

-PPE should be worn by staff caring for thechild while they await collection if a distance of2 metres cannot be maintained

If the test isnegative theperson can returnto school/work.However, if theyfeel unwell, it isbest to avoidcontact with otherpeople until theyfeel better.
