Freshman On-Track Contract Mission: 100% of ninth grade students at Ogden International High School will be On-Track to graduate at the end of both semesters during the 2020-21 School Year. Definition of On-Track: A student is considered On-Track if they have accumulated five full credits (ten semester credits) and have no more than one semester F in a core subject (English, Math, Science or Social Science) by the end of the first year in high school.

● The FOT Team regularly runs attendance and academic reports to determine which students need to be targeted. Each team member is assigned student mentees. The mentor is responsible for regularly checking in with the student, analyzing their grades, monitoring MTSS entries, student attendance and conducting a survey to gain a further understanding of why the student is Off-Track. Mentors are also responsible for keeping parents informed and involved in the intervention process.

● The FOT Team will survey the teachers of students who become Off-Track to identify which of these students need consistent tutoring and best approaches of intervention in order to achieve academic success and get the student back On-Track to graduate.

● All students who are Off-Track or “at-risk” of being Off-Track are required to attend Freshman Tutoring Classes during lunch and/or before and after school. These Freshman Tutoring Classes are hosted by teachers and allow students to work one-on-one with teachers to improve their academic success in classes they are failing or at risk of failing

● At the bi-weekly FOT meetings, the FOT Team will analyze Off-Track data to reassess intervention approaches and brainstorm next steps to achieve Ogden’s mission.

Ogden International High School is deeply committed to your child’s academic success and will require your child to attend weekly tutoring sessions if they fall Off-Track or are at risk of falling Off-Track to graduate. If my child becomes Off-Track or is at risk of becoming Off-Track, I understand and support that he/she will be required to attend tutoring sessions during lunch and/or before and after school until their grade substantially improves to a C or better. Please confirm that you understand your commitment to these tutoring sessions by signing on the line below.

The Ogden International Academic Integrity Policy

Philosophy of Academic Integrity Practice The purpose of this document is to clearly state Ogden International School of Chicago’s expectations for academic integrity and the role of all stakeholders: students, teachers, coordinators, administration and families, in upholding these expectations to the highest level. This document outlines the definition of academic integrity and the consequences for violating this policy. Academic integrity is the standard of honesty and responsibility in scholarship. It means doing the right thing even when no one is watching. It means taking ownership for your own learning and intellectual growth. It means properly citing research, doing one’s own work, giving credit to other people for their ideas and words, avoiding shortcuts like on-line translators for language acquisition and not misleading others about one’s efforts. As a school we recognize that assessment plays a key role in the student’s growth and their achievement of their individual academic potential. Assessment must provide a useful measurement against course criterion to provide a clear indication of students’ individual level of attainment of each course objective. To this end, consistent practice of academic integrity is essential to ensure student learning is correctly assessed and supported. The IB Learner Profile is the IB mission statement in action. As an IB learner, students are expected to be principled in their thinking and their actions. To be principled means to act with honor and integrity. It also means to live by an ethical code of conduct. It is expected that all Ogden International School students will do their own work, think for themselves, and take responsibility for their actions. They must recognize the ideas of others and give credit to the work of other people. In order to further develop their knowledge and to grow as thinkers and communicators, Ogden students will follow the current style formats of the Modern Language Association (MLA) or American Psychological Association (APA) as appropriate for all written and oral assignments. As members of an academic community and a world of shared knowledge, Ogden students will recognize collaborators from within our community and from the larger global community. As teachers, coordinators, administrators and families dedicated to our students’ preparation for a life of learning, we are dedicated to supporting our students to successfully maintain academic integrity, intervening in the case of issues related to academic integrity and use restorative practices in the case of violations of this policy.

Through technology, the school provides access for students and staff to resources from around the world. Expanding technologies take students and staff beyond the confines of the classroom, and provide tremendous opportunities for enhancing, extending, and rethinking the learning process. The goal in providing these resources is to promote educational excellence in the school by facilitating resource sharing, innovation, and communication with the support and supervision of parents, teachers, and support staff.
