Dear Parents,

Welcome back to Term 4

is a wonderful tribute and acknowledgement of your work and contribution to the local community and it is very special to have it

acknowledged in parliament

2017 Prep Enrolments

Have you got a child turning 5 before April 30 next year? If so they are due to be enrolled at school. Please contact the office to

collect an enrolment pack.

The school will be conducting an orientation program in November so it is important that your child is enrolled to be included as

part of this program.

Pre Prep Program

Is your child enrolled to start prep at St Albans East next year?

If YES, we encourage you to bring your child to the school each Friday this term from 9am to 10:45am to participate in our First

Steps Program. The focus of this program is to provide activities that will help to prepare your child for prep.

Mrs. Vanessa Forster will be in direct contact with all families in the next week with further details.

Are you moving on in 2017?...... Please notify the school as soon as possible if you are moving schools in 2017 as we are

about to start our planning for 2016.

Cup Day Holiday is on Tuesday 1 November. The school will be closed on this day.

Term 4 Curriculum Day.

The school has one remaining Curriculum Day for 2016. This will be held on Tuesday 20th December. This will mean that the

last day for students this year will be Monday 19th December.

Sun Smart

A reminder that in Term 4 our SunSmart Policy is implemented, requiring all students to wear a navy blue broad-brimmed or le-

gionnaires style hat at all times, whilst outside. Hats can be purchased from the school office at any time.

Please note that caps and bandanas are not appropriate, and as such are not part of the school uniform.

Our school rule is No Hat No Play…. This means that students without a hat will be required to sit in a shaded place for the dura-

tion of the recess break.

Soap Dispensers in the Toilets

Recently I had a parent mention that there is no soap in the toilets.

To some degree this is true; however it is not because we don’t place soap in there.

Soap is regularly placed in the toilets but continuously goes missing. We have tried numerous ways to ensure soap is available

by using soap dispensers, soap tied to the taps etc..

I am currently investigating the purchase of something stronger that the children cannot damage in the hope that we can ensure

that soap is always available to the children.

Thank-you to the parent who contacted the school to let us know about this problem. We will certainly address this as a matter of

urgency
