End of Term Two School Holidays

School finishes at 1.30pm this Friday 30th June. We wish all families an enjoyable mid-year holiday period. We can hope that you are all able to find somewhere warm to avoid the winter chill. The staff are looking forward to seeing everyone back at school, full of enthusiasm and ready to continue their learning journey on Monday the 17th of July.

Planning Week In the last week of each term, we change the time table to allow staff to participate in ‘Planning Meetings.’ At these meetings, the staff plan the curriculum for the term ahead. This ensures that the learning program for each child will continue from the very first day of Term Three. Some highlights to look forward to in Term Three include:

10th August – Parent/Teacher/Student Meetings

1st September – Father’s Day Breakfast and Open Morning for Grandparents/special supporters

5th September – A number of classes on excursions to Sovereign Hill and Central Highlands Water

14th September – Whole school performance

Equipment Check To ensure that all children are fully resourced and ready to learn at the start of Term Three, we ask parents to check what their child/ren need for the terms ahead. Some items to consider include:

Student Uniforms – Term Three is usually cold so check to make sure there are enough winter uniform items to last the term

Stationery – Pens, pencils, rulers, glue stick – Does your child have the necessities so they can use their time optimally for learning?

Safety

Thinking ‘Safety’ is something we all should be doing. At the Assembly last Friday, the ‘Scooter Group’ decided to highlight what they could do to promote safety for scooter/skate/bike riders. Tom, River, Liam, Jaylissa, Nate and Patrick – spreading an important message

Extra-Curricular Somers Camp

The school was notified late last week that we could send a total of seven children to Somers Camp. The names of all of the student who returned their expression of interest by the due date were put into a box and the names drawn out. Thus the ‘Lucky Seven’ were given first opportunity to attend this camp.

Disco

Well done to the Parents’ Club for their organisation of the Blue Light Disco held last Friday. It was a very positive night for the young people of Creswick and surrounding areas.

JUNIOR UNIT HELP

The Junior Unit is seeking donations of recycled items such as plastic containers (margarine, bottles, yoghurt, ice cream

etc), plastic lids, foam, foil items etc. These items will be used for science lessons.

We are also after buttons! Please drop items into 2D.

If you can help us it would be appreciated. Thank you
