However, the construction is far from completed. There is still work to be done. Installation of the traffic signals at the intersection of Oxbow Park Drive is well underway but won’t be active for quite a while yet. The Contractor is anticipating the pouring of the concrete sidewalks late next week. Starting in September the Contractor will be back working on the bridge. Various utility companies will be on site throughout the month of August relocating their utilities from the poles to the underground duct work. Commuters should still use the detour route as the primary path to avoid the construction and anticipated delays. Please follow the designated detour route (Route D1) throughout the duration of construction to avoid the congested area. Avoiding the construction zone will assist the contractor in completing this phase of the project quicker. If you choose to continue to use River Road West as your commuter path, please be patient and obey the construction signs and traffic control persons. Expect to be delayed. Remember that this is a construction zone and just because the area has been paved, speeding is not tolerated. Drive safe! RECOMMENDED ALTERNATE ROUTES The Town of Wasaga Beach recommends that commuting traffic choose alternate routes around the construction zone. 1) For local commuters the Mosley Street detour route between Schoonertown Bridge and Main Street Bridge is recommended and has be signed accordingly. (See attached) 2) For out of town visitors and commuters to or from the south of the town, the options of Klondike Park Road or Powerline Road via Klondike Park Road via Hwy 26, or County Road 10 (Sunnidale Road) to and from Mosley Street is recommended. We urge the public and the commuters to be patient throughout the duration of construction of the Schoonertown Bridge. Traffic delays are inevitable and your participation in utilizing the alternate routes is greatly appreciated. Please be patient if you happen to travel River Road West. Expect delays.

Roadway Construction, Traffic Control and Detour Route

The roadway is paved and traffic is flowing nicely through the area. However, the construction is far from completed. There is still work to be done. Installation of the traffic signals at the intersection of Oxbow Park Drive is well underway but won’t be active for quite a while yet.

Drive safe!
