Statement of the Problem
Our Statement is A glove slide on a longboard will slide further than a stand-up slide.
Project Overview
For our project we decided to do something to do that we love, which is longboarding! All we did was grab our boards and helmets and started the experiment. We measured each
slide to see which went the furthest.
Research Summarize your research here in three to five bullet points:
Deleted this section, if you are doing the experimental design labs
Variables
Independent variable: The type of slide Dependent variable: The Tape Measure.
(Operational Definition) Constant variables: The Slide Point, Wheels, Bearings
Control group: Stand-up and glove slides
Hypothesis Based on the research you have done, you will be writing an answer or
solution – your best educated guess – to your question. Make sure you write down your hypothesis before you begin your experiment.
Hypothesis/Prediction includes both independent and dependent variables and predicts a trend. A rationale is given for the hypothesis.
Materials Tape Measure 1 Longboards 2
Hill 1 Paper 1 Pen 1
Helmet 2 Gloves 2
Procedure
1. Gather all materials
2. Go to the hill
3. Set-up experiment
4. Take safety precautions (were helmet, look for cars)
5. David goes down 5 times with a glove slide while Michael measures
6. Michael goes down 5 times and David measures
7. After we are done we clean up our mess
8. Gather data and analyze the data

Conclusion
We learned that a glove slide is and most likely will always be longer. Even though a couple of the standies were close they were not close
enough to match the length of the glove slide. Our hypothesis is correct we said that a glove slide will go longer than a standie. All our data
matches that all hypothesis is correct.
Possible Experimental Errors
Pick to similar slides because at sometimes the glove slides went much further than the stand up slides. But there is different slides we could have done to change results to seam a little more close together.
Applications and Recommendations
Next time be aware that the slides can always turn into a short or a long slide. Wear protective gear. Also have adult supervision, we recommend to be an experienced longboarder to try these intense and dangerous tricks. Stay safe and have fun.
