The Tsunami That Swept

By Kanoa Ashley A kid, Jason, saw two people taking a jog when a tsunami hit and swept them up meanwhile Jason was shocked.

There was a young boy named Jason that lived right off the coast of Indonesia. He loved living there because of all the diverse things that happened. When he grew up he wanted to be a scientist and discover things.

His mom, Caroline, was a very protective person as well as a mother. She always wanted to walk with Jason and teach Jason things in her own way.

One day Jason decided that he could be grown and walk to school without his mom. They always walked along the beach and that was the only way Jason knew so he went that way again. As he was walking, he stopped at light and let the cars pass.

This is pretty fun walking to school by myself. He thought to himself.

Jason thought that until he saw a crazy scene. He looked at the shore where some people were jogging and a tsunami hit. It hit the people and swept them away. He was so horrified that he ran, ran until his legs were about to fall off. He never stopped.

As soon as he got home he, started to say, Mom, mom, as I was

He was soon interrupted by his mom.

Jason stop right there. Why were you walking to school without me? You could have died out there! His mom exclaimed.

I almost did, he thought to himself. But mom I saw the most crazy thing ever! A tsunami hit the beach and swept up two people. I was the only one standing there, so no one else saw it.

Yea Im sure you are just imaging things. Right now, youre in trouble.

Jason was devastated that his mom didnt believe him. Plus, he got grounded from TV and all electronics.

I have to figure out a way to prove to mom that the tsunami really did sweep up those people, he said to himself repeatedly.

Jason knew that no one was around when he witnessed this event. Therefore he could not ask anyone except the people that got swept up and he knew that they were dead for sure. Jason thought and thought for hours then he realized something. He could use his science knowledge to investigate this.

Mom can I go out for a little bit? He asked his mom.

No! Youre grounded! She exclaimed.

He was baffled on what to do about the tsunami. Where could he find proof he thought to himself. Then he realized that there were buildings around that could possibly have surveillance cameras.

Without any thought, he grabbed his backpack with some snacks, water in it, and left the house. He made sure to climb out the window so his mom would not hear him. He went to the area where the tsunami happened. He just sat and observed.

Have you seen anything suspicious around here? He asked multiple times.

He got the same response every time, Nope.

Then he went to the stores and tried to persuade them to let him see the surveillance cameras. They never gave it to him. Then he knew what he had to do.

In order to get them I have to do it myself, he thought.

He went home and luckily wasnt caught for being out of the house. Tomorrow was Saturday and he planned to get those cameras.

Jason decided to wake up early to get out the house before his mom awoke. As he made it to the beach, he surveyed his surroundings. There was no one around and it was silent except for the birds. There was an alley right in front of him between the buildings that he didnt even notice.

Jason went into the alley and tried opening doors.

Why wont any of the doors open? He said to himself.

Then it happened. One of the doors opened. It was a red door. A bunch of sand fell on the ground. Almost like a sinkhole.

Jason walked in and saw a messy room. He explored the building then he finally found something.

The surveillance. He grabbed it and ran home. By this time his mom was about to get up from bed. He rushed into his room and acted as if he was asleep.

Oh, hello mom. He said when she walked in.

Hi honey. She said.

Later that day he put his tape of the surveillance in and looked at it. He saw the tsunami swoop up those two joggers.

He rushed into the living room and said Mom I found it. The tsunami, I found proof of it.

Let me see that. She yelled.

Mom put the tape in and watched it. When it got to the tsunami part she sat with horror on her face. She then later apologized to Jason.

Im sorry for not believing you Jason. Now let us go talk to the police station about this. I do not know how they didnt catch this. Maybe the detectors were malfunctioning.

They talked to the police about what had happened. They had had some people turn up missing. They didnt know where they had went. Now they did and sure enough, the software was malfunctioning at that moment.
