Forms of EnergyForms of EnergyEnergy is the ability to do work.

Forms of EnergyKinetic energy (K.E.)

Possessed by moving objects; the faster it moves, the more K.E. it has.

Potential energy (P.E.)

Stored in an object because of its position or condition; the higher the position, the greater its P.E.

Heat energy

Possessed by hot object; can be detected by our skin.

Light energy

Given out by luminous object; enables us to see.

Forms of EnergySound energy

Produced by vibrating objects; can be detected by our ears.

Chemical energy

Stored in fuels, food and chemical substances.

Electrical energy

Produced by moving electrical charges; can be supplied by generators, dry cells or solar cells.

Nuclear energy

Stored in the nucleus of an atom and in all radioactive substances.

Forms of EnergyForms of EnergyEnergy exists in various forms.

Conserving Conserving EnergyEnergy

• So that Man can still enjoy a

comfortable life with the

technology that uses energy

sources

Why conserve energy sources?

• So that there will be energy

sources left for future

generations

• So that non-renewable energy

sources do not deplete quickly

• Prevent energy crisis

• Carpool

• Walk or cycle for short trips

• Use public transport if possible

• Switch off electrical appliances not in use

• Service the engines of motor vehicles and machines regularly

• Use fluorescent lamps instead of filament lamps

• Invent machines and motor vehicles that do not use much energy

Conserving Conserving EnergyEnergyWays to use energy efficiently.
