Science Lab ReportTitle: The germanation of plants
Purpose: I want to see how tall a plant grows when there is light or none.
Background information:- pants need water and sunlight to grow- plants are green - plants males their ownb foood during a process called photosynthesis- plants need to grow roots to make food
Hypothesis: I think the plant in the drawer wouldn’t grow because plants need sunlight to make food. I think the plant in the sunlight would grow tall.
Materials: -Two nine ounce cups with one drain hole in the bottom
-Two saucers
-Six zinnia seeds
-Miracle Grow soil
-Water (75ml)
-Beaker
-Ruler
-Data chart
Procedure:Step 1- Fill both cups with soil leaving one inch from the top empty
Step 2- Poke hole in the middle of the soil (1/2 inch)
Step 3- In each cup, put three seeds into the hole and cover with the soil
Step 4- Put 75ml of water in each cup
Step 5- place one cup on a saucer and place it on a windowsill
Step 6- place one cup on a saucer and place it in a drawer

Analysis- The plant in the sun grew while the plantin the drawer didn’t.
Conclusion- I learned that plants need sunlight to absorb for there to be photosynthesis to make food for themslefs. I also learned that the hypothesis was true. I learned that water by itslef wouldn’t make theplant in the drawer grow.
