Learning Objectives: By end of this lesson, pupils will be able to:i) identify at least 4 out of 6 animals shown.ii) complete the design on animals at least 80 per cent of it. iii) able to answer 2 out of 3 simple Wh-questions. 1) Displaying few pictures of animals.

Examples: -Tortoise-Scorpion-Crocodile -Octopus

Teacher asks questions such as:

i) What animal do you see on board?

ii) Have you seen this animal anywhere else?

Obtaining answers from pupils:

Examples:

i) It is a crocodile.

i) Yes. We have seen these animals in the zoo and television. 1. Teacher displays few pictures of animals on video via the LCD.

2. Pupils are required to watch it and take down notes.

3. Teacher asks general questions to pupils on the video they watched. 4. Teacher writes down pupils answers on the white board.

1. To arouse pupils interest by playing the sounds of transport.

Stage 1: Pre-Listening-Generating of ideasPencetusan idea(10 mins)

1) Discussion on the way animals protect themselves.

2) Examples:

-Picture of a crocodile

i) How does the crocodile protect themselves?

ii) How does it encounters it enemies?

1. Teacher discusses the way animals protect themselves to the class by giving some input on the white board.

2. The teacher also describes and gives examples to pupils.

3. Pupils are required to take down notes on what they listen from the teacher.

4. Pupils are also required to share their answers verbally to the class. 1. To provide pupils a general idea relating to the topic that will be discussed.

2. To prepare pupils mentally.

3. To introduce the topic of the lesson.

Stage 2:While Listening-Restructuring of ideas.Penstrukturan semula idea (20 minutes)

Activity 1:1) Displaying another set of pictures.

Examples:-elephants -giraffe-reindeer-crab

Activity 2:Several pictures being distribute to pupils and they are required to design their own defence mechanism for the animals they choose.

1. Teacher displays another set of pictures on the white board via LCD.

2. Teacher discusses how these animals protect themselves with pupils.

3. Teacher also obtains pupils ideas and answers by writing it on the board.

4. The teacher then distributes several pictures of animals and task sheet pupils.

5. The teacher reads out the instructions loudly and provides a clear explanation on what the pupils are required to do.

6. Pupils are required to design their own defence mechanism for the animal they choose from the picture given.

7. Teacher provides feedback on the activity carried out 1. To develop pupils creativity, imaginative and innovative thinking.

2. To develop pupils thinking ability. Pupils will be able to think beyond in order to come up with interesting designs.

3. To expose pupils with variety of animals found around the world.

Stage 3:Post Listening-Application of ideasPengguna idea (20 minutes)1) Based on the activity conducted, pupils will have to state the reasons for the design they have created at the back of the task sheet.

1. Teacher asks pupils to write down the reasons based on the design they have created.

2. Teacher demonstrates the activity by showing an example to pupils.

3. Pupils will need to write the reasons down at the back of the task sheet.

5. Pupils are then required to share their answers to the class verbally.

6. Teacher provides feedback on the activity carried out.

1. To integrate collaborative learning strategy in class.

2. To determine the effectiveness of the input given in the previous lesson.

3. To improve pupils reasoning skills.
