cast-in Anchor Points - No Concrete DrillingScissorsafe Anchorage points are formed in concrete to provide overhead connection points for Fall Arrest ,Work Restraint or Rescue from Height.
Expendable plastic void formers are simply nailed or screwed onto formwork decking to form a Tee - Shaped void in the concrete.
This eliminates the need to drill into concrete, saving time and removing the user hazards associated with dust and vibration.
The Tee-Shaped Void is an Anchor Point which are planned and positioned where work is undertaken with the Edge Protection removed.

Unique Design, The User is always in controlThe Scissorsafe Anchorage Tool is a mechanical device that will not allow connection until it is fully open in the concrete void and will not pull out of the anchorage point until the user purposely removes the connector and closes the blades.
Scissorsafe anchors don’t need pull-out tests, you can’t connect until its fully deployed.
When the scissorsafe anchorage tool is locked into the concrete void formed using the two part void former, it provides a 12 kN Fall Arrest Anchorage in any direction, compliant to BS EN 795 Class B.
Cost EfficiencyThe Scissorsafe Anchorage Tool is reusable in any Scissorsafe Anchorage Points, simply insert into where its needed, remove when complete and re-use in the next work area.
It doesn’t leave embedded or exposed steel parts to discard.

Scissorsafe components are manufactured to meet European harmonised standards in conjunction with assessment of documentation, and CE Certification from a notified body.
The Scissorsafe Anchorage Tool has been tested to EN795:2012 by SATRA who are a Notified Body (number 0321) and experts in the testing and certification for the CE marking of products under the European Union’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Directive.
CE marking of most types of PPE can only be carried out by a Notified Body such as SATRA. The process involves checking that the product meets the appropriate safety and performance standards and that technical files and user information are correct.
SATRA also ensure that procedures are in place for on-going checks of performance and quality to ensure that the product is manufactured to consistent quality standards and complies with European legislation.

Scissorsafe Anchorage Points are cast into pre-cast floor and balcony units provide safety connections during erection of structures.
For top down casting, void formers are suspended above the formwork, level with the top of the concrete pour.
In steel formwork, utilise the scissorsafe adapted perestal magnet to avoid making holes in the shuttering.

scissorsafe in work restraint allows access to a wider working area
Temporary Work Restraint Systems consist of components that restrict the workers movement within a safe working zone, preventing them from reaching the fall hazard. When planned and installed the system provides a high level of safety and creates a safe working zone where four user’s can operative in a safe working zone.

Scissorsafe anchorage’s are linked to Temporary Horizontal Lifelines (also referred to as Running Lines). The maximum length of the temporary lifeline is 20 metres, typically they will be positioned 3 metres from the leading edge running parallel to it which provides a safe working zone of 60 square metres.
Four workers have complete freedom of movement along the lifeline without needing to transfer from one anchor point to another. This allows them to pass equipment , materials and tools to each other or to any point in the safe working zone.

A Fall Protection or Work Restraint system will provide a safer working environment when the areas of potential danger from falls from height are recognised and the personal safety system is planned, identifying anchorage points locations for running lines or fall arrestors.
Working from a design brief and floor level plans, a Scissorsafe Technician will prepare setting-out plans showing void former positions.

When Scissorsafe is to be utilised as a Fall Arrest System, anchorage points should be pre-planned at regular intervals around the structures perimeters and leading edges so that the user can access an anchorage point above the work area.
The recommended limitations when working connected to an overhead anchorage is 30 degrees in a horizontal direction and fall arrest devices such as self-retracting lifeline, and Lanyards are unsuitable for operation at angles greater than this.

Pendulum swing will occur in a fall event if the anchorage point is not located directly above the fallers head.
The faller will initially travel vertically until tensioning of the fall arrest system occurs. At this moment the faller will begin a swing fall
which will subsequently bring him under the anchorage and beyond, leading to collision with anything in his path.
A worker using a self retracting lifeline device should operate in an arc no more that thirty degrees from the anchorage point.

Users attach to the lifeline using an Adjustable Work Positioner from their harnesses which are kept in tension whilst in use.

single point anchorage
for fall arrest
Each anchorage is suitable for one person working in Fall Arrest using a Self Retracting Lifeline directly between harness and anchorage point.
This allows the user to work in an area no further than 30˚ horizontally from the overhead anchorage point.
