    Remove urniture, clutter, and lightweight rugs rom area to be cleaned.

    Scoobas Cleaning PatternScooba is a robot that cleans dierently than the way most people cleantheir oors. Scooba uses iRobots AWARE Robot Intelligence System todetermine the best way to pass over and clean every section o the oor.

    In most cases, Scooba will pass over the same area o the oor multipletimes to ensure a thorough cleaning.

    While Scooba is cleaning it calculates the best path to clean your oor anddetermines the best times to use its various cleaning behaviors:

    spii: Enables Scooba to efciently clean a large area.

    w Fooi: Enables Scooba to clean the room perimeter and navigatearound urniture and obstacles.

    room Coi: Enables Scooba to clean new areas while crisscrossingthe room.

    Scooba will alternate betweenspiraling, wall ollowing, and roomcrossing during a cleaning cycle.

    Battery PerormanceScooba is powered by a rechargeable battery. Scoobasbattery will last or hundreds o cleaning cycles beoreneeding replacement.

    Btty stoFor best battery perormance, iRobot recommends storing Scoobas battery inScooba with the power supply plugged in. Do not store Scoobas battery in therobot i the robot is not plugged in.

    Btty liFully charge Scoobas battery (up to 4 hours) beore each cleaning cycle.When ully charged, Scoobas battery will last or at least one ull cleaningcycle. I you would like to run Scooba more requently, you can purchaseadditional batteries and chargers at .iobot.com. The battery shouldbe replaced i Scooba cannot complete a cleaning cycle when ully charged.

    Under some circumstances, Scooba uses a special 16-hour charge cycleto extend Scoobas battery lie. Scooba will use this charge cycle when theScooba has been unplugged or an extended period o time or during thebatterys frst charge. The Power light will rapidly blink green during thischarging cycle.

    Scoobas TankScoobas tank is completely removable rom the robot base. Scooba has aunique two-chamber tank design that ensures resh cleaning solution nevermixes with the dirty water Scooba picks up as it cleans.

    C TkThe Clean tank holds the cleaning solution and water that Scooba uses toclean the oor. Beore each use, the Clean tank is flled with water and 1measuring cup (1.5 oz.) o Scooba cleaning solution or 2 ounces o whitevinegar. Fill the Clean tank beore cleaning with Scooba.

    2 Remove tank romrobot base.

    3 Using the includedmeasuring cup, measureand pour cleaningsolution into the Cleantank.

    Slowly fll the remaindero the Clean tank withwarm or cold tap water.Tilt the tank to ensureit is completely flled tothe top.

    5 Push the Clean tankcap closed and placetank back in robot.

    Dity TkScooba puts down clean solution, gently scrubs the oor, and collects all othe dirty solution into the Dirty tank. Empty and rinse the tanks ater every

    cleaning cycle.

    Scoobas Cleaning SystemScooba uses our cleaning methods in every pass.

    1 Pp Scooba picks up loose dirt and light debris rom the oor.You do not need to sweep the oor beore using Scooba unless you

    have large objects such as pebbles or large ood particles on the oor.

    2 wh Scooba continuously lays down a small amount o reshcleaning solution.

    3 scb Scooba gently scrubs to clean spills and grime.

    Di Scoobas squeegee vacuum picks up dirty water and debris,leaving your oor clean and dry.

    Scooba will clean until it has used all o the solution in the Clean tank,approximately 45 minutes. At the end o a cleaning cycle, Scooba will entera drying mode.

    It Dyi ModAt the end o the cleaning cycle, Scooba will enter a brie internal dryingmode to remove any liquid remaining on its brushes and inside its cleaning

    mechanisms. During this time Scoobas Clean light will blink.

    Scooba Cleaning Solutionormulated by Clorox

    Scooba cleaning solution is specially ormulated by Cloroxto be saeor use in Scooba. The solution is designed to be tough enough orcleaning, but sae around children and pets.

    Scooba cleaning solution has been specifcally engineered to be sae andeective on hard oor suraces, including tile, linoleum, vinyl, marble, slate,stone, and sealed hardwood.

    Scooba is not recommended or use on unfnished or unsealed hard oorsuraces, carpet, rugs or waxed oors. These suraces may be damaged bywater (an unsealed oor does not have a coat o polyurethane to protect thesub-ooring rom water damage). Additionally, Scooba is not sae or use with

    Scoobas Virtual Wall

    The Scooba Virtual Wall creates an invisible barrier thatScooba will not cross. Virtual Walls can be set to block areasrom three to eight eet wide.

    The Virtual Wall beam is keyholeshaped. A small halo preventsScooba rom bumping the VirtualWall and a larger lobe-shapedsection blocks o areas o yourhome where you dont wantScooba to go.

    Virtual Walls require 2 Dbatteries. Virtual Walls willautomatically shut themselves oat the end o a cleaning cycle.

    Avoiding Common Mistakes

    Your iRobot Scooba will not clean eectively i the battery, cleaning head, flteror vacuum port are not properly installed. Here are a ew common mistakesyou can easily avoid to ensure best results.

    Inspect Scoobas drive wheels. Spin the wheels byhand and confrm that they oer some resistance. I

    Operate your Scooba only rom the type o power source indicated onthe marking label. I you are not sure o the type o power supplied in yourhome, consult your local power company.

    Charge using a standard U.S. (120V AC) outlet only. Product may not beused with any type o power converter. Use o other power converters willimmediately void the warranty.

    Use only the charger supplied by the manuacturer to charge thisdevice.

    Do not use a charger with a damaged cord or plug.

    Charge indoors only.

    Never handle chargers with wet hands.

    Always disconnect Scooba rom the charger beore cleaning.

    Use only approved cleaning solutions. Use o other cleaning solutionswill void your warranty.

    Scooba is not a toy. Do not sit or stand on this device. Small childrenand pets should be supervised when Scooba is cleaning.

    Clean with a damp cloth only. Do not pour or spray water onto Scooba.

    Do not use this device to pick up anything that is burning or smoking.

    Do not use this device to pick up spills o bleach, paint, or other

    chemicals. Beore using this device, pick up objects such as clothing, loose

    papers, pull cords or blinds or curtains, power cords, and any ragileobjects. I the device passes over a power cord and drags it, there is achance an object could tumble o a table or shel.

    I the room to be cleaned contains a balcony, a physical barrier shouldbe used to prevent access to the balcony and ensure sae operation.
