GOALS & OBJECTIVES:

The attending practitioner should be able to have a better understanding of multiple topics and subjects discussed during the 25 hours of continuing medical education classes with improvement in current knowledge and applications of treatment techniques for conditions involving the lower extremities.

• To better understand current treatment options for the management of hypertrophic and keloidal scars.

• To discuss and review the issues around current thoughts regarding pediatric patients in

practice and to better understand postoperative nausea and vomiting. • To understand the sesamoid apparatus and sesamoid injuries and to review the current

literature on Vitamin D deficiency.

• To review the keys to complications of returning athletes to action after injury.

• To improve the recognition of flexible anterior cavus foot and to review the current recommendations for treatments of these conditions.

• To review current trends and treatment protocols for conditions such as complex skin

conditions and related difficult foot dermatoses. • To learn specific techniques for recognition, evaluation and management, including current

medical and surgical treatment of Posterior Malleolar Fractures and Achilles tendon conditions.

• To provide additional understanding of the organic considerations for venous disease.

• To better understand current treatment options and recommendations for plantar warts. • To review current thoughts on inflammatory skin conditions and treatment options for

improving them.

• To review and better understand the organic considerations for osteoporosis and its effects in current medical practice.
