Scotland’s New Soil Treatment Centre We are pleased to announce the Torphin Soilutions Treatment Centre has secured a PPC permit and can now accept a range of soils for treatment. Economic end-point for Non-Hazardous Soils (no LFT) Located in the Central Belt Environmentally Friendly disposal route The TSTC can accept material which is Non-Hazardous and can be treated to inert levels. If you’re unsure whether your soil fits this criterion send us the information and we’ll be more than happy to have a look and let you know. By sending soils to our treatment centre they do not attract landfill tax, which can significantly reduce the cost of disposal. Situated on the B7008 close to Livingston the TSTC is readily accessible from the M8 corridor. The TSTC was created as a treatment hub to treat and dispose of contaminated soils from a major infrastructure project where savings of around £500,000 were achieved. Following the success of this project the decision was taken to make this innovative disposal route available to other projects.
