The first teacher showcase is Mrs. Hunt’s & Mrs. Nurse’s English II class at Melrose High School. This class created innovative Prezi projects on their chosen research paper topics. Students learned how to customize the background, edit the path of the presentation, and adding additional diagrams, pictures and

other items to really make their stand out. For more information on Prezis, visit http://prezi.com/

The next teacher showcase is Mrs. Taylor’s and Mrs. Ofenhusle’s English class at Fairley High School. These teachers know how to use a Smart board! Instead of simply showing a PowerPoint, students annotate articles, make comments, and really break down the task using the

Smart board tools. Even more interestingly, students designed storyboards to assess their knowledge of the types of conflict (using Storyboard That). The student pictured above was able to drag, drop, and type on his Storyboard all while on the Smart board. For information on visit www.storyboardthat.com

Site Spotlight- Using Google Forms to Make your Life Easier

What are Google Forms? Google forms are easily created surveys that collect information from a small or large group of people. The responses go to a spreadsheet that can be manipulated as needed. Need to quickly get all students to give you their email addresses, phone numbers, or parental information? Use Google Forms! Other great uses include self grading multiple choice quiz (Flubaroo), disciplinary tracker, gathering data for a science experiment, sign up sheet for parent teacher conferences, survey students to determine which instructional strategies work best, create an inventory of textbooks, lockers numbers, etc. For more information visit http://www.google.com/google-d-s/createforms.html
