Cave Kayaking Trip 2014

Scout requirements to join the crew

Scout must be 14 years old the day of the trip.Scout must be able to pass BSA swim test at the Base CampShould be in good physical condition, will be paddling 10 miles per day

Trip Details Location : Camp Barksdale Ashland ,Wisconsin , Lake Superior

Crew size will be minimum 4 scouts 2 adult’s , Max size of crewCan be 9 scouts and 3 adults.Cost: Estimate to be between $500 and $700 Date of Trip : Will be in June or July . Once crew is formed in December , they will pick the date that is available .Length of Trip . 9 days total , includes travel.Need commitment from scout by December 10th 2013Deposit will be due at that time , amount will be determine byThe size of the crew.

Trip Itinerary Leave on a Saturday morning early . 12 hour drive to camp Spend Saturday night at a location that crew to decideSunday arrive at Base Camp 3:00 PM Equipment checkout, personal gear check, and van packingPrepare and eat dinnerSetup camp, Social campfire

Monday we hit the lake and return to base camp late Friday .Participants spend 5 days on the water and 4 nights on islands.You will be paddling among the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in Lake Superior! Enjoy perfecting your skills and learning about aquatic life, kayaking in sea caves and enjoying meals from the sea.

Saturday at noon we head for home.Saturday night crew decides on location of nights staySunday return home late evening .

This is just a brief summary to give you some idea of the trip.The Crew will do all the planning .There will be shake down Kayaking trips that must be attendedPrior to this trip . Again crew will plan all those activites.
