Iranimex (2017 = 19th):

• biggest maritime event in the region

• 3 days maritime exhibition (alike Europort-Ahoy R’dam)

• Ahoy / Europort® started to support two years ago

• Iran organisation = KTP

• Annually

• Location: Exhibition halls next to Kish Airport

• Open daily from 16:00 to 22:00

• Impressive, slick and large

• Several international, non-regional exhibitors (see next slide)

Conclusive findings and remarks (i):

• Caspian Sea, Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman ports majorsiltation problems

• Iran for the coming years very much in need of services onports and waterways; extensions and maintenance

• Knowledge exchange (and in basic dredging technology) ispreferred

• Iran is less scrupulous concerning Intellectual Property(intelligence from NL Embassy)

• In Iranian maritime industry several organisations andindividuals are black listed (intelligence from NL Embassy)

• Many civil engineering business opportunities maritime andon land

• Kish Island is a “free zone”; for entrance no visa / paperworknecessary; ultra light boarder formalities

• Easy and convenient access possible directly via Dubai

• ICOPMAS 2018 (Iranian Biennial Int. Conference on Coasts,Ports and Marine Structures in Iran) = September 2018 inTeheran

• X PIANC-COPEDEC 2020 (Quadrennial Conference on Coastaland Port Engineering in Developing Countries) will be held onKish Island, Iran, on 8 – 12 November 2020 in concert withICOPMAS 2020(IX PIANC-COPEDEC 2016 was held in Rio de Janeiro)

• All presentations / lectures volunteered by representativesof CEDA-corporate members

• Presentations / lectures to carry content (not commercial)

• Presentations / lectures will identify and carry name and logoof CEDA corporate member

• Amount of presentation slots is limited at discretion of CEDA

• CEDA/IADC handbook : “Dredging for SustainableInfrastructure” as guide, source or reference

Request of CEDA-Board of Directors per 10th of April:

Who of the CEDA corporate members would like to contribute tothe CEDA seminar at Iranimex 2018 in the framework and underthe conditions given in the previous sheets?

This involves:

• Prepare a 20 minute presentation containing content chosenfrom the list of the preferred topics

• Submit to CEDA secretariat: Duivenman@dredging.org

• Cover expenses of travel to and stay at Kish Island
