Any Scout in Troop 1029 is able to earn service hours for work they do outside the troop for the betterment of the community. If a scout wishes to utilize hours spent in community service towards rank advancement, it is required that prior approval be obtained from the Scoutmaster and that this form be returned with the signature of the leader of the service project or organization benefiting.
These hours may not be applied to any other service requirements, they must meet for church, school, or other social groups.
The Scout may not receive any monetary reimbursement for their time and efforts.
The Scout cannot directly – personally – benefit from the outcome of their labors, as an individual.
The Scout's service should benefit a group of people or an organization.
